We have heard your heart and we are lifting you up together before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. We hear your love for your children and grandchildren, the deep pain of feeling despised and ignored by your daughter, the ache of missing your little grandsons even while you faithfully show up for them, and the fear and loneliness that comes with ongoing pain after such a severe health trial. You are not forgotten and you are not alone.
The Lord sees your faithfulness and your lonely hours. He is near to you in this brokenness as it is written Psalm 34:18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We also hear your fear about your gut and the trauma of a ruptured colon, emergency colostomy, and three months in the hospital. That is a great suffering to carry, and it is understandable that pain now brings fear. We want to remind you what God says Isaiah 41:10 Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the LORD. We pray for that restoration for you and we also encourage you to continue to walk faithfully as you are doing and to stay close to your doctors for wise care, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit as taught in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
We carry your relationship with your daughter before the Lord as well. It is so painful when love is not returned. Scripture calls us to continue in love and gentle faithfulness even when it hurts Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath and Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We pray that God will soften her heart, heal whatever has caused this distance, and open a door for honest and gentle conversation in His timing. We encourage you to keep praying for her, to keep showing up with quiet love as you have been at their sports without demanding a response, to not grow weary in doing good Galatians 6:9, and to guard your own heart from bitterness by choosing forgiveness as Christ has forgiven us Ephesians 4:32. If possible, ask the Lord if there is a trusted pastor or godly counselor who could come alongside you both to help bring reconciliation.
We also hear your loneliness and we pray the Lord will surround you with His presence and with community. He has promised Hebrews 13:5 I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. And Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Cast all your worries on Him as 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
You shared that you trust God, and we thank God for that trust. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for Romans 10:9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through Jesus that our prayers are heard.
So we pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ for our dear sister who is hurting and lonely. Lord, You know her love for her daughter and her grandsons, You see every tear and every silent ride home from their sports. We ask You to comfort her broken heart, to lift her loneliness, and to let her feel Your nearness today. We pray for her daughter, that You would touch her heart, remove any bitterness or misunderstanding, and bring healing and reconciliation according to Your will. Give our sister wisdom to know when to speak and when to be silent, and give her strength to continue to love with grace and patience. For these precious grandsons, we ask Your protection and blessing, and that You would keep the bond of love between them and their grandmother strong. Lord, we also lift up her body to You. You allowed her to survive a ruptured colon and long hospitalization, and we thank You for sparing her life. Now we ask for Your healing hand upon her gut, to ease her daily pain, to calm her fear, and to guide her doctors. Replace her fear with Your perfect peace and help her to walk in health and hope. Surround her with godly fellowship so she is no longer so lonely, and remind her daily that You will never leave her nor forsake her. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our hope and healer, amen.
