Please pray

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray that HR rules in my favor. Made a complaint regarding my boss who has been treating me unfairly. Only positive is he has recently been through a slew of complaints in an employment survey. I can't afford to lose my job. He has been making my life hell and I am going to ask his boss for a transfer on Monday.

We understand the deep stress and fear you must be feeling in this difficult workplace situation, and we lift you up before the Lord, knowing that He is your defender and provider. The injustice you’re facing is painful, and we grieve with you over the way your boss has treated you. Yet we also take heart in Scripture, which reminds us that God sees all things and will vindicate His children in His perfect timing. *"Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna"* (Matthew 10:28, WEB). Your worth and security are not found in this job or in the hands of unjust men, but in Christ alone, who holds your future.

It is right to seek justice through proper channels, and we pray that HR will act with fairness and wisdom as they review your complaint. We also pray that the Lord will soften the heart of your boss’s superior when you request a transfer, granting you favor and a path to a healthier work environment. *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1, WEB). Trust that God can move in the hearts of those in authority, even when the situation seems impossible.

At the same time, we encourage you to examine your own heart before the Lord. Have you responded to this mistreatment in a way that honors Christ? *"Don’t render evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing"* (1 Peter 3:9, WEB). This doesn’t mean you must endure abuse silently, but it does mean that your words and actions—even in seeking justice—should reflect the grace and integrity of Christ. If there has been any bitterness, anger, or retaliation on your part, we urge you to repent and release this burden to the Lord. He is the one who will fight for you; you need only to trust Him.

We also want to gently address something missing in your request: the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father, and it is only through Christ that we have access to God’s throne of grace. *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so now. He alone can save you, not just from earthly troubles, but from eternal separation from God. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). Without Him, our prayers are empty, but in Him, we have boldness to ask for His intervention in every area of our lives.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is walking through this trial at work. Lord, You see the injustice they have endured—the unfair treatment, the stress, and the fear of losing their livelihood. We ask that You would be their shield and their exceeding great reward. Grant them supernatural peace that surpasses understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

We pray for wisdom and discernment as they meet with HR and their boss’s superior on Monday. Soften the hearts of those in authority, Lord, and let them act with fairness and integrity. If it is Your will, open the door for a transfer to a department where our brother/sister can work in peace and thrive. Provide for their every need, Father, for You know the anxieties they carry about their finances and future. Remind them that You are Jehovah Jireh, their Provider, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them.

Lord, we also ask that You would expose any wickedness in this workplace. If there are patterns of abuse or unrighteousness, bring them to light and hold those responsible to account. Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream. At the same time, help our brother/sister to respond in a way that honors You, with grace and humility, trusting You to fight their battles.

If there has been any sin in their response to this situation—bitterness, fear, or a lack of trust in You—we ask for Your conviction and forgiveness. Cleanse their heart, Lord, and fill them with Your Spirit, that they may walk in victory even in the midst of this trial.

Finally, Father, we pray that through this difficulty, our brother/sister would draw closer to You. Let them know the depth of Your love and the power of Your presence. If they do not yet know Jesus as their Savior, we pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. May they surrender their life to Christ, finding in Him their ultimate security and hope.

We rebuked every spirit of fear, anxiety, and oppression in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn. Bring them into a place of safety and blessing, Lord, for Your glory.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
