Please Pray That God Works in Her Heart

Disciple of Prayer
Hey everyone, I wanted to share something on my heart and ask for your prayers.

I’ve loved a girl for a couple of years now, and she loves me too. We’ve known each other for about 8 years, but our feelings for each other only really grew about 7 to 8 months ago. I’m in the UK and she’s in another country. I’m a Christian and she’s a Muslim.

I went back home in January and we were meeting almost every day. Those days were really beautiful for both of us. But in mid February she told me she couldn’t continue the relationship because she doesn’t see a future for us. She had tried to talk about that before too. She cried many times while I was visiting because the thought of a future where we couldn’t be together was hurting her.

After the breakup I went through a really rough time. But then something changed in me. I suddenly felt a strong urge to start praying more, especially praying for her and for her family that they would know the Lord.

Sometimes I question myself and wonder if it’s just my love for her making me feel this way. But the urge to pray for her keeps coming back. I don’t really talk to her much now, and I can’t openly share the gospel with her, so all I can do is pray.

I’ve been praying a lot for her salvation, for her family, and for God to guide me. Since I started praying like this I’ve also been feeling spiritual attacks, even through dreams. But I’m trying to stay strong in the Lord and in His word.

I’m really trying to grow and change and to trust God with all of this. I believe God can do the impossible. Please pray for her and her family, and also pray that God gives me patience, wisdom, and a clear heart to hear His voice.

Thank you all.

We hear your heart and the deep love you carry, but we must first address the foundational issue in this situation with truth and love. Your feelings for this young woman, while sincere, have led you into a relationship that does not align with God’s design for marriage. Scripture is clear that believers are not to be "unequally yoked" with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman who share the same faith in Christ, as it is only through Him that two can become one in spirit and purpose (Ephesians 5:31-32). The pain you feel now is a consequence of walking outside God’s will, and we must repent of that and seek His forgiveness.

We also must rebuke the sin of fornication, as any physical or emotional intimacy outside of marriage is not pleasing to God (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Even if your relationship did not involve physical union, the depth of emotional attachment you describe is reserved for marriage. The Lord calls us to flee from sexual immorality in all its forms, and that includes relationships that stir passions and commitments outside of His boundaries.

Now, we turn to the Lord with humility and surrender, lifting up this young woman and her family to the One who alone can soften hearts and open eyes to the truth. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask You to break the chains of deception in this young woman’s life and reveal Yourself to her in ways she cannot ignore. Lord, we pray that You would send Your Holy Spirit to convict her of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and that she would come to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Soften her heart to the gospel, and surround her with believers who can share the truth with her in love.

We also pray for her family, that their eyes would be opened to the truth of Your Word. Father, we ask that You would remove any spiritual blindness and replace it with a hunger for Your truth. Let them see the emptiness of their faith and the fullness of life that is found only in Christ (John 10:10).

For our brother here, we pray for strength and discernment. Lord, help him to release this young woman into Your hands and trust You with his future. Give him the patience to wait for the spouse You have prepared for him—a godly woman who shares his faith and his commitment to You. Guard his heart from bitterness and resentment, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help him to stand firm against spiritual attacks, knowing that greater is He who is in him than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We also pray that You would heal the wounds in his heart and restore his joy in You. Help him to find his identity and purpose in Christ alone, not in any human relationship. Lord, we ask that You would bring godly mentors and friends into his life to encourage and support him in his walk with You.

Finally, we declare that no weapon formed against him or this young woman will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We bind every spirit of deception, confusion, and fear, and we loose the spirit of truth, love, and freedom in Jesus’ name. May Your will be done in both of their lives, and may Your name be glorified through it all. In Jesus’ precious name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart, but we urge you to surrender this relationship fully to Him. Trust that He has a plan for your life that is greater than anything you could imagine (Jeremiah 29:11). Seek out a local church or Christian community where you can grow in your faith and find accountability. The Lord is faithful, and He will not leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and He will lead you into all truth.

We're right there with you, brother. We've been praying for her and her family, asking God to soften her heart and open her eyes to the truth of His Word. We've also been interceding for you, that God would give you patience, wisdom, and a clear heart to hear His voice. We believe that God is at work, even in the midst of this pain. Keep trusting in Him, and continue to seek His will above your own.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

Thank you all for your prayers, I would ask you all to pray for her mother, she faced cardiac complications today and have been back and forth to hospital. She has a CT Angio tomorrow now so please pray that Jesus heals her.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our honor to lift up your heart’s burden before the Lord, interceding for the young woman you love and for her family. We have asked God to soften her heart, to open her eyes to His truth, and to draw her near to Him through the power of His Spirit. We have also prayed for you—that the Lord would grant you patience in waiting, wisdom in discerning His will, and clarity of heart to hear His voice above all else.

If the Lord has already moved in this situation, we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report from you. Please share how He has worked so that we may rejoice together in His faithfulness. If, however, you are still waiting and longing for His answer, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, trusting that God hears our cries and is at work even when we cannot see it.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him with all your heart. May He strengthen you in times of spiritual battle, fill you with His peace, and remind you daily of His unfailing love. We stand with you in faith, believing that God is able to do immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
