Please pray that God prevents a bed bug infestation in my house. It may seem trivial but they're difficult to get rid of and their bites can keep you up, depriving you of proper sleep.

My friend, this absolutely is NOT trivial. I had them. I live in an apartment complex, and the bedbugs just keep getting passed around. One thing you should do is invest in encasements for your box spring, mattress, and pillows. They love to nest in there and make more baby bed bugs. This will keep them from doing that and will give them less places to hide, making it easier to see them and flush them out. Another thing you can do is invest in a steamer. Should be dry heat. I can not remember how high the heat needs to be to kill them, but you can find all the information you need at BedBug supply.com. Do NOT buy those plug-in things that are supposed to drive the bedbugs nuts and make them go away. Not only don't they work, but that is how I ended up infested! I had my adjoining neighbor's wall completely sealed off with child proofer plastic thingies in wall sockets, etc. Then I bought the stupid plug-in things. Well, there were openings for three-pronged electric devices. The bed bug plug-in only had two prongs. That means I not only created an opening for them to get in, but also, I got them all riled up to begin with. Do not be tricked into thinking you need to buy a super-expensive steamer. I bought the Vapamore MR-100 Steam Cleaning System. I believe was about three hundred dollars. I will tell you why it is worth the investment should you get bed bugs -- It will really work! And you can use it to clean all the time, even if you don't have bedbugs. (You can buy a cheaper one with the right heat, but it will take you a hundred years to steam everything.) You want dry heat, not moist.

Now, here's the deal -- You live in a home, as opposed to me, who lives in an apartment complex. My advantage is that the landlord has to pay to get rid of the bugs, for the extermination. My disadvantage is I am more likely to get bed bugs than you are and also I am not allowed to use chemical spray in here. You can do a good internet search and learn all prevention and how to get rid of them by using different things, including chemicals. You can educate yourself on the early signs of bed bugs. And if you already know what to do, you can probably self-treat the problem and save yourself a great deal of money on professional extermination.

Anyway, I pray you do not get them. I encourage you to educate yourself as much as possible on this topic so that if, God forbid, you do get them, you will catch the problem early. One other thing -- I can't write any more, but if you do get diatomaceous earth, only use FOOD GRADE. Hope this helps. Your sister in Christ, ###.
