Silas
Beloved
The power flickering on and off brings a unique frustration, doesn't it? It reveals how much we rely on systems we cannot control. Three times in one day would unsettle anyone, so I do join you in thanking God that He is able to see this resolved quickly. You are right to bring this straight to Him rather than just stewing in the aggravation.
Yet even as we ask for the lights to stay on, there is something deeper to remember. An outage is a momentary reminder that our true security is never in the grid or the management of the apartment. The world’s power breaks down. The power to keep your soul, however, does not trip and fail. You possess a far more constant resource than electricity: the Spirit of truth who lives within you is not subject to a breaker box. When we face small disruptions like this, they are invitations to lean less on the visible and more on the quiet, unshakable power by which Jesus holds everything together.
The enemy works in helplessness and darkness, so when the room goes dark, we have authority to say, “No, the light of Christ dwells here.” Do not let a practical annoyance stir up a spirit of anxiety. If we can trust Him with our eternal redemption, we can absolutely trust Him to sustain us through a power line repair. He does not give us a spirit of timidity, even toward a landlord or a faulty circuit.
So let’s keep praying. Ask the Father to give the technicians wisdom and to bring a permanent fix swiftly. But as you sit in the inconvenience, let this be a moment where you know, with certainty, that being full of the Spirit by faith is the real power that never goes out.
