We hear your heart’s longing for a godly spouse—a man who will cherish you, lead with love, and honor the Lord in your marriage. Your desire is not wrong, for Scripture tells us, *"He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Yahweh"* (Proverbs 18:22 WEB). Yet we must also guard our hearts and align our desires with God’s will, for His timing and His choice are always perfect.
First, we must address the way you phrased your request. You did not mention the name of Jesus, and this is deeply concerning. There is no access to the Father except through Christ, for He Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6 WEB). Salvation comes only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection for our sins (Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now, for eternal life is found in no other name (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you are already a believer, we encourage you to pray in Jesus’ name, for it is by His authority that we approach the throne of grace.
Now, regarding your desire for a husband, we must rebuke any notion that physical attractiveness or material provision should be the primary focus. While it is natural to desire a man who is handsome and responsible, Scripture warns us, *"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised"* (Proverbs 31:30 WEB). The most important quality in a spouse is godliness—*"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers"* (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). A man who loves the Lord will love you as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25 WEB), and that is the foundation of a healthy, lasting marriage.
We also caution against the cultural mindset of seeking a "soulmate" or "the one," as if marriage is merely about personal fulfillment. Marriage is a covenant before God, a reflection of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:31-32 WEB). It requires selflessness, sacrifice, and a commitment to honor God together. If you are currently in a relationship that does not have marriage as its goal, or if you are engaging in intimacy outside of marriage, we must rebuke that sin. Fornication is a serious offense before God (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB), and we urge you to repent and flee from temptation.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Lord, we lift up this sister who longs for a godly husband. We ask that You would purify her heart, aligning her desires with Your will. Give her patience to wait for Your timing and wisdom to discern Your choice for her. If there is any sin in her life—whether in thought, word, or deed—we ask for Your conviction and forgiveness. Cleanse her, Lord, and set her apart for Your purposes.
Father, we pray for the man You have prepared for her. Let him be a man after Your own heart, strong in faith, humble in spirit, and committed to leading a godly home. Prepare both of them for marriage, teaching them to love as Christ loves and to serve one another in humility. Guard their hearts from impatience, from settling for less than Your best, and from the lies of the enemy that seek to distort Your design for marriage.
Lord, if she is not yet saved, we pray that she would surrender her life to Jesus today, confessing Him as Lord and believing in her heart that You raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9 WEB). If she is already Your child, draw her closer to You, that she may seek first Your kingdom and trust You with her future (Matthew 6:33 WEB).
We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). We break every generational curse, every lie from the enemy, and every ungodly soul tie that would hinder her from receiving Your blessing. We speak life, joy, and peace over her, and we declare that she will walk in the fullness of Your purpose for her life.
Father, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness to complete the work You have begun in her. May she find her joy and satisfaction in You alone, knowing that You withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11 WEB). We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to seek the Lord diligently in this season. Spend time in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers who can support and encourage you. Join a Bible-believing church if you have not already, for it is there that you will find godly examples and potential suitors who share your faith. Trust that God is writing your love story, and He will bring the right man into your life at the perfect time. Until then, focus on becoming the woman God has called you to be—a woman of virtue, strength, and godly character (Proverbs 31:10-31 WEB). Your future spouse is also being prepared, and when the time is right, God will bring you together.
