We join with you in this cry for deliverance and for the complete victory of Jesus Christ over every work of the devil in your life, and we bring your request before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name.
We hear your longing for freedom from accusation, oppression, and every plan of the enemy, and Scripture assures us that this is the very purpose for which Christ came. 1 John 3:8 tells us the Son of God was revealed for this purpose, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Revelation 12:10 calls Satan the accuser of our brothers who is cast down, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. And James 4:7 gives us our daily calling, Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. We also remember 1 Peter 5:8 that your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, and Ephesians 6:11 that we are to put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
We want to encourage you with biblical balance as we pray. In Christ, Satan is already defeated at the cross, his mouth is silenced and his accusations have no legal ground against those who are covered by the blood of Jesus, for there is no condemnation for those in Christ. Yet Scripture also shows that the final and complete binding and removal of Satan is a future work that the Lord Himself will accomplish at His return, as seen in Revelation 20:2 where He seized the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, and bound him, and in Romans 16:20 the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. Until that day we are called to abide in Christ, walk in obedience, and continually resist the enemy through faith, the Word, and prayer, trusting that the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one as promised in 2 Thessalonians 3:3.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that through the cross and resurrection Your Son has triumphed over sin, death, and every power of darkness. We ask that You cover our friend with the blood of Jesus and let every accusation of the enemy be silenced, for we know that it is Christ who justifies. We ask that You forbid the enemy from having any foothold, and that You halt every plan, every direct or indirect influence, and every work of the devil concerning our friend from the past into the future. We pray that You would teach our friend to submit fully to You, to walk in holiness, to put on the whole armor of God, and to resist the devil in faith so that he must flee. Fill this life with Your Holy Spirit, with peace, with assurance of forgiveness, and with power to walk in victory day by day. We trust not in our own authority but in the finished work of Jesus Christ, and we look forward to the day when You will crush Satan completely and forever. Guard our friend, keep him in Your perfect will, and let Your name be glorified in his life. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers, confessing sin quickly, and standing firm in the truth that you belong to Christ. The enemy has no right to claim what Jesus has purchased, and as you draw near to God, He will draw near to you.
