Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me that God give me the same thing I have felt in my former friend, ###, It is a certain quality, or something else entirely beyond my ability to describe or comprehend, that seems to cause the devil to flee simply by its presence. I do not know what it is or how to name it, but I ask God to grant me this very same thing and establish it as a permanent attribute of my being. so that the devil flees whenever he draws near. I pray that God Himself would bestow this upon me and make it an inseparable part of my being, according to His sovereign will. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

We have heard your heartfelt request and we join with you in seeking the Lord's will together in Jesus' name. You have described a quality in your former friend that you cannot name or comprehend, a presence that causes the enemy to flee, and you desire that God Himself would grant you that same thing and make it an inseparable and permanent part of your being. We understand this deep longing for holiness and for power over the enemy, and we thank you for asking this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We want to gently encourage you with what Scripture teaches about this very thing. What causes the devil to flee is not a mystical transferable aura or a quality that one person can pass to another, but the indwelling presence and power of the Holy Spirit through submission to God and abiding in Christ. The Word says in James 4:7, Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. And again in 1 John 4:4, You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. That greater One is Christ Himself dwelling in you by His Spirit. When we walk in obedience, in faith, in purity and in the fullness of the Spirit, the enemy cannot stand before Christ in us.

What you sensed in your friend was likely the fruit of a life surrendered to Jesus, the holiness, peace, love and authority that comes from abiding in Him. Scripture tells us in Galatians 5:22-23, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. And we are promised in 2 Corinthians 3:18, But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit. This transformation is not instantaneous magic but a lifelong work of God as we behold Christ, walk in His Word, pray, and put on the whole armor of God. As it is written in Ephesians 6:10-11, Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

We encourage you not to seek the gift apart from the Giver, but to seek Christ Himself more and more. Desire Him, His holiness, His Word, and His Spirit filling every part of your life. As you submit to God daily, confess sin, walk in obedience and faith, and remain in close fellowship with Jesus, He will establish in you that Christlikeness which makes the enemy flee, according to His sovereign and perfect will.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the longing of this heart that cannot even be put into words. We ask that You would fill this life with Your Holy Spirit in ever increasing measure, that Christ would dwell richly within. Make this one more like Jesus from glory to glory, and establish holiness, love, peace and spiritual authority as a permanent work of Your Spirit. Teach us to be subject to You in all things, to resist the devil in faith, and to stand strong in the strength of Your might, clothed in the whole armor of God. Let the presence of Jesus in us be so real that darkness must flee when it draws near, not by our power but by Yours. We ask that You would accomplish this according to Your sovereign will and for Your glory, that our lives would bear witness to Your transforming power. Keep this dear one abiding in Christ, rooted in Your Word, steadfast in prayer, and walking in purity and obedience. We thank You that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.

We hear your honest longing in this, , and we are thankful you brought it to us so plainly. Wanting to walk so closely with the Lord that evil has no place near you is a good desire, and it makes sense you would notice it so strongly in your former friend and want that same steadiness for yourself.

What you saw in him was likely not a single quality that can be passed from one person to another, but the quiet fruit of a life that has stayed near Jesus over time. That kind of steadiness usually grows gradually as we keep turning to Christ, learning to trust Him and to walk in His ways, rather than arriving all at once as a permanent trait we can claim.

If it would help, one simple next step could be to set aside a little unhurried time each day to be with the Lord in prayer and in His Word, and to share with a pastor or a mature believer who knows you what you admired in . Talking it through with someone steady can help you discern how God is already shaping you and where He may want to grow you next.

Father, we lift to You and thank You for his hunger to be near You. Draw him close, keep him in Your care, form Christ more deeply in him day by day, and give him wisdom and peace as he seeks You. Guard him from the enemy and help him rest in Your presence and leading. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace, where we may come boldly through Jesus Christ.

What you have perceived in another, that quiet power by which the evil one is made to flee, is not a mysterious quality to be transferred from one person to another as a permanent possession of our own. Scripture teaches us that the victory by which Satan's power is broken belongs to Christ alone. He has poured out His soul unto death and thereby won the victory, and the Seed of the woman shall trample on the serpent. When our Lord as the Head of His people was victorious over the foe, every member of His mystical body was virtually a conqueror in the conquering Head.

That victory becomes ours not as an inseparable attribute inherent in ourselves, but by union with Christ and by the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. It was the mighty power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in Christ by which He overcame the world, and that same quiet power, if it dwells in us, will make us win the same victory by faith. He does not remove us from the conflict, but He giveth us the victory and provides a way of escape in temptation.

What you are truly seeking, therefore, is what the Word calls practical, personal, active, vital holiness. Holiness is not merely a clean outside, but having a clean inside. Morality may wash the outside of the cup, but holiness is the living form made pure within by grace. Without such holiness, which is separation from the world and consecration to God, no one shall see the Lord. God has not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

The promise that the devil will flee is given to those who first submit themselves unto God. As it is written, submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. This is perseverance in holiness, of which the Lord says, They shall not depart from me. If the grace of God has really changed you, you are radically and lastingly changed, and kept by His power.

Weakness and divine anointing may stand together in the same soul. You may feel weak in yourself, and yet as one washed from sin and anointed by divine grace, you are called to reign over sin, self, the world, death and hell by virtue of your union with Christ.

So we pray for you according to the sovereign will of God, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ:

Our Father, we ask that You would grant to this Your child not a vague power sought as an independent possession, but Christ Himself formed within, and the full indwelling of Your Holy Spirit. Clothe Your servant with practical holiness, a clean heart and a right spirit, and keep this one from departing from You. Grant grace to submit wholly to You, to walk in humble faith and obedience, and so to resist the tempter that he must flee, not by any strength of our own, but by the blood of the Lamb and the victory of Christ. Establish Your work of grace unto perseverance, that this life may be marked by compassion, holiness and love, to the glory of Your name. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and victory. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard and we join with you in bringing it before God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

You describe a quality you sensed in your former friend which seemed to make the evil one flee simply by its presence, and you ask that God would grant you the same thing and make it a permanent part of your being. We understand the longing behind this request, the desire to be kept safe from the assaults of the devil and to walk in a holiness that repels him.

Scripture and the teaching of the Church show us that the devil does not flee from a vague power or an impersonal attribute that we possess in ourselves. He flees when Christ dwells in us, when we submit ourselves to God and resist him in faith and obedience. He has no authority over those who belong to Christ except what God permits, and Christ has already triumphed over principalities and powers through His cross and resurrection. What you perceived in your friend was not a separate thing to be transferred, but the grace of Christ at work in a life that was turned toward Him in faith, humility, prayer, and faithful obedience.

God does not give us a charm that works apart from Him, but He gives us Himself. He delivers us not only once but continually, as we abide in Him, keep His commandments, watch and pray, and walk in diligence and virtue. The way to stand against the evil one is to be clothed in Christ, to live in repentance and faith, to feed on His word, to persevere in prayer, and to turn from every evil work.

Therefore we pray for you in this way:

Heavenly Father, in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, we ask for Your mercy upon this soul who seeks You. Grant not an indescribable power apart from You, but grant Christ Himself to dwell richly within. Fill this heart with Your Holy Spirit, with faith, humility, purity, and love, and make it steadfast in Your word and prayer. Teach this one to submit fully to You, to resist the devil in the strength of Christ, and to walk in watchfulness and obedience all the days of life. Deliver from every evil work and from the snares of the evil one, and keep this life hidden in Christ according to Your sovereign will. Let Your power be made perfect in weakness, and let Your name be glorified. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who has conquered sin and death and who alone is our salvation. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord Himself above any experience, to abide in His word, to live in fellowship with His people, and to walk in the obedience that keeps you near to Him. For when God is for us, nothing that comes against us can finally harm us, but all things are turned by His wisdom to our salvation and glory.
