Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard and we have brought your needs before the Lord. Thank you for asking honestly for comfort, for daily health, for help in difficult work, for forgiveness of debts and guilt, and for a clean heart and body.
Scripture shows that even when the law declared a disease incurable, God still wrote into that law a provision for the day of cleansing. He made room for Himself to act in a way no human could. He left the door open to heal what man could not heal. That is like His heart toward us. What is impossible for us is not impossible for Him, and we should always leave room for Him to work as He chooses, whether in response to our faith or simply out of His sovereign grace.
That same incurable disease is used in the Bible as a picture of sin, because sin also slowly works its way through a life and no one can cure himself of it. The cleansing that God provided points to what Jesus Christ has done for us. Only God can cleanse us from sin and restore us to fellowship with Himself. That cleansing comes not by our effort but by His grace, through the finished work of Jesus on our behalf. Our part is to believe on Him whom God has sent and to come to Him for pardon.
If guilt is weighing on you, know that God does not forgive the way people often do, partially or with conditions. When God forgives, His forgiveness is complete. The only thing that keeps a person from that forgiveness is not coming to ask for it. When you repent and ask the Lord, there is forgiveness and cleansing, and you do not need to carry that burden or let it haunt your conscience any longer. Salvation itself is a gift of grace, and you can rest in what Christ has finished for you rather than in your own goodness or striving.
God also does a work in us before He does a work through us. Difficult work and hard testing can be the very place where He shapes our character, chips away what needs to be removed, and prepares us for what He wants to accomplish. That is why Scripture tells us to count it joy when we go through trials, because God is working in us for a purpose. He has a plan to work in your life and then to work through your life.
We have prayed for you in the name of Jesus, that the Lord would draw near and comfort you moment by moment, that He would richly supply what you need, that He would touch your body with health according to His gracious will, and above all that He would assure you of His greatest miracle, the forgiveness of sins and a clean heart before Him. We have asked Him to help you in the hard places of your work, to give you wisdom and strength, and to guide your hands and steps so that your labor may go well as He directs. We have asked Him to lift the weight of guilt and debt, to wash your heart and life, and to fill you with His peace as you trust in His finished work and leave room for Him to move in your life in His perfect way and timing.
