We join together with you in lifting up this request before the Lord and we hear your heart crying out for His saving and protecting power, and for the very best words to be spoken on your behalf with speed and with the best result according to His will.

We want to gently encourage you about the wording of this prayer, because we understand the desire to have the perfect words and to repeat Save and protect many times to be heard. Yet Scripture teaches us that we are not heard because of many words or perfect wording, but because of the grace of God through Jesus Christ and the intercession of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said in Matthew 6:7-8, In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. And we are reminded in Romans 8:26, In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. The Lord does not need us to find the best wording we have ever had or to repeat a phrase one hundred times, He searches our hearts and He knows our needs and He answers according to His perfect wisdom and timing, not merely our desire for maximum speed, for His ways are higher than our ways as it says in Isaiah 55:8-9 and He makes everything beautiful in its time as in Ecclesiastes 3:11.

We also notice that your request mentions Lord, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved and protected eternally. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To be saved is first to be saved from sin and death through faith in Jesus who died for our sins and rose again, and then to walk in His daily protection and keeping. If you have not already placed your trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to call upon His name today, for Romans 10:9 says, If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

So we pray together now in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up the author of these lines to You. Lord You know this dear one by name and You know every need, every fear, and every hope. We ask first for Your saving grace, that You would draw this heart fully to Yourself through Jesus and assure this one of eternal salvation. And we ask for Your divine protection over body, mind, and spirit. We pray as in Psalm 91:1-2, that this one would rest in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty, saying of You, My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. We ask that You would keep this one from evil as You have promised in 2 Thessalonians 3:3, But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one, and as in Psalm 121:7, Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul.

Lord, we ask not for our perfect wording but for Your perfect will to be done. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would intercede and add what is needed according to Your wisdom, far beyond what we know to ask. Let Your will be done quickly where it is Your timing, and with patience where You are teaching trust, always with the best result which is conformity to Christ and Your glory. We trust that You hear even a simple cry of Save and protect when it is offered in faith through Jesus.

We thank You Father that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name and that You are both our Savior and our Protector. We pray for peace to fill this heart, for faith to be strengthened, and for the assurance that You are working all things together for good for those who love You as in Romans 8:28. We pray all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. We hear the care in your request and how sincerely you want to be held and kept safe, and to bring the very best before the Lord. Wanting the right words so badly can feel heavy, as if everything depends on getting the phrasing exactly right.

We want to gently remind you that the Lord already knows your heart before you speak. He is not measuring your wording for perfection or speed, He is listening as a Father listens to His child. A simple, honest save and protect from the heart is enough for Him to hear and hold.

When the urge comes to chase the perfect phrasing or to repeat it many times, it can help to pause, pray one clear prayer in your own words as you mean it in that moment, and then rest and trust that God has heard you. If that pressure feels constant, it can also help to share it with a trusted pastor or friend who can pray alongside you in person.

Father, in Jesus name we lift them to You. Cover them with Your protection and peace, quiet the striving for perfect words and give confidence that You hear and care. Let them rest in Your nearness today. Amen.

Your request has been heard and we have carried it before the throne of grace, asking not for a charm of words repeated many times, but for the mercy and keeping power of our God toward you.

You have asked for the very best wording and for speed and result, and for the Lord to choose. Hear then what the Scripture teaches, that as surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so His will governs all our days and all our prayers. We are taught not to say, we will do this or that and have it so by our own willing, but to say, If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that. There is a divine will which governs all things, and there is a revealed will which we must not violate, and there is a providential will which we should humbly consult. No harm can come to you if you bow to His sovereign sway.

Our Lord also warns us against thinking we shall be heard for much speaking or for vain repetitions. He hears not the number of words but the heart that trusts in Him. What time I am afraid, says the Psalmist, I will trust in Thee, and again, I will trust and not be afraid. The power is not in the phrase Save and protect said a hundred times, but in the Person to whom we cry, and in the blood of Christ through which we come.

So we do not pray a formula for you, but we pray for you to the living God who alone can save and who alone can keep. We pray that you may know salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and that being saved you may be preserved, for the preservation and perseverance of God's people rests upon His will. He works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure, and makes us willing in the day of His power, without violating our will, yet surely changing it.

Let our prayer for you be this.

O Lord our God, Thou who art King, willing to do as Thou pleasest, having mercy on whom Thou wilt have mercy, look upon this soul who cries Save and protect. Save from sin and its guilt and power by the blood of Thy dear Son, and protect from evil without and within. Grant not merely the best wording of man, but Thy best will, which is holy and wise and good. Teach this one to trust Thee and not be afraid, to rest not in any work or repetition of lips, but in Christ crucified and risen. If it be Thy will, grant deliverance and keeping speedily, but above all grant it surely and for eternity, that this soul may be Thine, kept as a jewel for Thy crown, hidden as a son that serveth Thee. We ask this not because our words are many or excellent, but because Thy mercy is great through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
