We join with you in bringing these heartfelt requests before our Lord Jesus Christ and we thank you for coming in His precious name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are saved and heard.
We hear your cry for comfort, for provision, for health, for help in difficult work, and for forgiveness and cleansing of heart and body, and we bring each of these before the throne of grace together.
The Scripture reminds us that our God is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, and Jesus Himself invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28. We are encouraged that you have turned to Him for comfort and strength, and we pray that His peace which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.
We also lift up your need for provision and help in your work. We are promised, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19, and we are taught to seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33. We pray that He will give you wisdom, diligence, and favor in all your labor, and we remember the word, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23. Even when work is difficult, He is able to strengthen you and to make your path straight as you commit your ways to Him.
You have asked for forgiveness of debts and guilt and for a clean heart and body, and this is at the very center of the gospel. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. Through the blood of Jesus we are cleansed and made new, for He forgives all our sins, Psalm 103:2-3, and removes them as far as the east is from the west, Psalm 103:12. We pray with the psalmist, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me, Psalm 51:10, and we remember that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, so we ask the Lord to help you honor Him with both heart and body in purity and holiness.
Concerning health, we pray earnestly for your healing and strength, knowing the Lord is our healer who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:3, yet we also know we live in a fallen world where our bodies are still subject to weakness until He makes all things new. We do not promise a life without any illness every moment, but we do trust His promise that He will work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, Romans 8:28, and that His grace is sufficient for us.
We pray together now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, be near and comfort this heart, supply every need according to Your riches in glory, and grant wisdom and strength for every difficult task at work. Lord, forgive all sin and guilt through the blood of Jesus, cleanse the heart and renew the spirit, and help this life to be set apart for You in body and soul. Touch the body with Your healing hand, grant daily health and endurance, and let all work be established and go well according to Your perfect will. Teach us to trust You not only for blessings but through every trial, and to rest in Your steadfast love. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
