Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for asking for prayer. Hearing that you have been carrying deep grief for a year since your loss, and that you are struggling both inwardly and outwardly, brings compassion. It is understandable that prolonged sorrow would leave you feeling unwell in mind and body, and that you would be concerned about your arms and your teeth and the grinding in your sleep.

Jesus understands the frailty of our bodies and the weight of sorrow. The Gospels show Him moved with compassion when He saw people weary, sick, and grieving. He did not use His power to serve Himself, but He willingly used it to meet the needs of others, healing sickness, comforting those who mourned, and showing tender care for both physical and emotional pain. He still understands what it is to be human and to hurt, and He is full of pity and compassion toward you now.

The Bible presents God as the healer, the one who becomes what we need. A large part of Jesus' ministry was touching and healing those who were sick and afflicted, and Scripture points to Him as the fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy, surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, which Matthew applies to physical sickness as well as to our spiritual need. That tells us God cares about the body as well as the soul.

All healing comes from Him. At times healing is immediate, and at times it is gradual. There is one account where Jesus laid His hands on a blind man and the man began to see dimly at first, and then clearly after a second touch, reminding us that God often works through a process. The natural processes of recovery that He placed in our bodies are themselves divine, because He created nature and the ways our bodies mend. We can pray for a quick recovery without infection or lasting scarring for your arms, and for protection and restoration for your teeth, while also thanking Him for the wisdom He gives to doctors and dentists and using their care as part of His provision. Please continue to seek appropriate medical and dental help for these concerns.

There is also a close connection between the health of our inner life and the health of our bodies. Scripture says a joyful heart is good like a medicine, and we now know how grief, anxiety, and sleeplessness can affect us physically. Grinding your teeth at night and having distressing dreams are often tied to stress and sorrow that have not yet healed inside. God can bring healing to the mind and emotions as well as to the body, healing the wounds and scars that grief leaves behind. Bringing your sorrow, your anxiety, and your sleep to Him in prayer, and also seeking help for the practical side of sleep and dental care, are both important steps.

At the same time, there is much about healing we do not fully understand. Scripture shows that healing does not come in the same way or at the same time for everyone. Paul prayed three times for a painful affliction to be removed and learned that God had a different purpose in allowing it to remain. To assume God must heal in every case instantly and in the way we expect is not what the Bible teaches. What we can hold firmly is that God does heal, that He hears prayer, and that His love and power are present whether the healing is immediate or unfolds over time. Our part is to trust Him, ask Him, and rest in His wise and loving will.

Above all, the greatest healing anyone needs is the forgiveness of sins and peace with God, which comes only through Jesus Christ. He was wounded for our transgressions and bore our sins so that we could be forgiven and have eternal life. If you have not already done so, turn to Him in faith, confess your need, and receive His salvation. That settled relationship with God becomes the foundation for every other kind of healing and for comfort in grief.

We are praying for you now, that the Lord Jesus Christ would touch you inside and out. We ask Him to comfort your heart in this long season of grief, to give you peace in place of nightmares and restful sleep, to ease the grinding of your teeth and protect them from harm, to bring healing to your arms without infection or lasting marks, and to restore strength to your mind and body day by day. May He draw near to you as the healer of body, mind, and spirit, and may you know His presence, His forgiveness, and His sustaining grace in the days ahead.
