Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and allowing us to pray with you. We have brought your requests before the Lord and we continue to hold you and your family before Him.
Your desire for peace is at the very center of what God wants to give you. Scripture says God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The peace the world offers depends on circumstances, but the peace of Christ guards the heart and mind even when life is full of chaos and turmoil. The apostle Paul speaks of a peace that passes all understanding, a peace the world cannot comprehend, that keeps our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
In order to know that steady peace of God in daily life, we must first have peace with God. That peace is only possible through Jesus Christ, who made peace through His blood on the cross. When we have been at war with God because of sin, there is inner turmoil and no lasting rest. But when sins are forgiven and we are reconciled to God through Jesus, the war is over. We are no longer running from Him or fighting against Him, and He brings a deep and beautiful peace within. Many know they have peace with God, yet still need to learn to experience the peace of God each day by keeping their thoughts stayed on Him and trusting Him to take care of what concerns them. As your mind is turned toward Him, His peace begins to fill your heart. Grace comes first, and then peace follows.
That same turning to the Lord brings the clarity, wisdom, discernment, foresight, fortitude, patience and perseverance you asked for. The wisdom that comes from above is peaceable and pure, and it leads to peace. It quiets inner striving and then helps us live at peace with others. The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace, and Jesus said the peacemakers are blessed and shall be called the children of God. Longsuffering and patience are part of the fruit of the Spirit that God works in us as we walk with Him. We have prayed that God will bestow on you that heavenly wisdom, that you will have clear discernment to know His way, and strength of spirit to wait patiently and persevere as He guides you.
We have also prayed for the Lord's protection over you, your home, and your family. The Lord has promised to ordain peace for His people and to work on their behalf, and He gives His angels charge to watch over those who belong to Him. We have asked that He guard you and your parents and your siblings through each day, at home and at work, and keep you in spiritual, physical and mental well being. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. He invites you to call upon Him and pray to Him, and He promises to listen.
For your finances, your housing, and your work, we have prayed as you asked, that each situation would work out as the Lord sees fit and that you would know His provision. God knows your needs and He delights to provide. We have asked that He supply what you need, that your cup would overflow with His goodness, and that He would open the right doors and close the wrong ones according to His perfect will. We have prayed that He would establish the work of your hands and grant you success in your endeavors as you commit them to Him, so that whatever you do bears fruit for His glory.
May the God of peace Himself be with you and keep you. May He keep your mind stayed on Christ, fill you with joy and peace as you trust His Word, and cause His peace to guard your heart and mind. We pray that you will know both peace with God through Jesus and the daily perfect peace of God as you trust Him with every detail of your life, your home, your family and your future. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
