Beloved of All
Your prayer request is full of faith, and we stand with you in it. The cry for Jesus to silence every work of the adversary is right at home in the hearts of all who love His appearing. Scripture gives us a clear picture: the devil is real, but he is a defeated foe. He is not an opposite equal to God; he is a created being who fell, a slanderer and deceiver. In the oldest book of the Bible we see that even his accusations against a righteous man required divine permission. He cannot move one inch beyond the boundaries the Lord sets. That truth alone should steady us.
When Jesus walked among us, He faced the tempter head on. Every lure, every shortcut to glory apart from the cross, He met with the written Word. He did not argue; He simply declared what God had said. The devil left Him for a season, but that season had an expiration date. On the cross, Christ disarmed the principalities and powers, making a public spectacle of them. The price of redemption has been paid in full. The enemy still roams, but his doom is sealed. The day is coming when an angel will lay hold of that ancient serpent, bind him, and cast him into the abyss, and finally into the lake of fire, from which there is no return.
Until that day, we do not ignore the reality of his schemes. The temptation is not the sin; the danger lies in letting desire conceive and give birth to action. That is why the fear of the Lord is to hate evil and to depart from it. When the enemy whispers lies or throws up stumbling blocks, the Spirit of God within us is greater. We resist him, steadfast in the faith, and he will flee. He must.
So we pray with you that every plan, every silent suggestion, every indirect chain of influence the enemy tries to weave would be cut off by the Lord Jesus. We ask that the power of Christ’s finished work would be a wall of fire around you, silencing accusations and halting deceptive works. Yet we also rest in this: Jesus has already triumphed. He did not come to negotiate with the usurper but to redeem a people and a world back to the Father. When He returns, the devil’s time will be over forever. In the meanwhile, you are kept by the power of God through faith. Keep hiding His word in your heart; it is the sword of the Spirit that exposes every lie and strengthens you to walk in the light.
May you know the peace of being hidden with Christ in God, where the enemy cannot snatch you away. He who called you is faithful, and He will do it. We agree with you in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
