The cry of your heart is clear, and it aligns with the truth that Jesus Christ has already secured the ultimate victory. The enemy is a defeated foe, not an opposite equal to God but a created being who fell through pride. When you pray for a complete halt to all his plans, you are standing on the reality that the cross was not a defeat but the very means of his overthrow. Satan tried to steer Jesus away from the cross, offering shortcuts and compromises, but Christ paid the full price to redeem what was lost.
You deal with an accuser whose chief tactic is to point out failure and whisper that we are unworthy to approach the Lord. His goal is to drive a wedge between you and Jesus, to make you want to give up. But the moment you recognize that pressure, that flood of condemnation, as an attack from the adversary, you can refuse it. You do not have to receive his guff. Your response is the written Word of God, just as Jesus answered every temptation with “It is written.”
The authority Satan claims over the world was handed to him by man’s disobedience in the garden, but you have been transferred out of that kingdom. You are a purchased possession. Though he may assail, he has no final claim. Rejoice that God has given you His Spirit, and the power to stand firm does not come from your own strength but from the one who led captives from their captivity when He rose from the dead.
The battle is real, and sometimes the strike comes from within, through division or lies that sound reasonable. Yet the weary will find rest, and the oppressor’s voice will not be heard forever. The place prepared for the devil and his angels is not your destination. For now, lift your shield of faith. Declare that you have been redeemed from your life of sin through Jesus Christ. The plans of the enemy are already nullified by the empty tomb, and the day is coming when all his works will cease completely.
