We come before the throne of grace with boldness, lifting up this powerful request in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names. The Scriptures declare in 1 John 3:8, "He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil." Indeed, Jesus came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose again to break the power of the enemy and set the captives free. We stand on this truth today, declaring that every work of the devil is already defeated through the finished work of Christ.
We rebuke every scheme, plan, and action of the enemy in the name of Jesus. The Word tells us in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We resist every whisper, every lie, and every deception of Satan, knowing that he has no authority where the blood of Jesus is applied. We declare that the mouth of the enemy is shut, for Psalm 8:2 says, "From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger." The enemy is silenced, and his plans are brought to nothing in the name of Jesus.
We pray that every direct, indirect, or connected influence of the devil be completely halted. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." But we do not fight this battle alone. We are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us (Romans 8:37), and no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that every assignment of the enemy is dismantled, every stronghold is torn down, and every chain is broken in the name of Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the One who has already triumphed over the devil and all his works. We thank You that through the cross, Jesus disarmed the principalities and powers, making a public spectacle of them and triumphing over them (Colossians 2:15). We declare that every work of the devil is destroyed, every plan is frustrated, and every mouth speaking against Your people is silenced. We bind the strongman and plunder his house, for no one can enter a strong man’s house and steal his goods unless he first binds the strong man (Mark 3:27).
Lord, we ask that You send Your angels to encamp around those who are under attack, to minister to them, and to fight on their behalf. We declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, depression, and confusion, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
We pray for those who may be unaware of the enemy’s schemes, that You would open their eyes to see the truth and to walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them. Let them no longer be ignorant of the devil’s devices (2 Corinthians 2:11), but let them stand firm in the armor of God, taking up the shield of faith to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one (Ephesians 6:16).
Father, we also ask that You would expose any areas in our lives where we have given the enemy a foothold. Show us where we have partnered with sin, unforgiveness, bitterness, or rebellion, and lead us to repentance. Cleanse us with the blood of Jesus and restore us to right fellowship with You. We declare that the enemy has no legal right to operate in our lives, for we are covered by the blood of the Lamb.
We thank You, Lord, that the gates of hell shall not prevail against Your church (Matthew 16:18). We declare that the devil is a defeated foe, and his time is short. We stand in agreement with Your Word, which says that the God of peace will soon crush Satan under our feet (Romans 16:20). Until that day, we walk in the authority of Jesus Christ, resisting the devil and watching him flee.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we declare these things done. We seal this prayer with the blood of Jesus and thank You for Your victory. Amen.
