We lift up your son before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and hope. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. We thank You for this mother’s love and concern for her son, and we ask that You draw near to him, even though he is far away.
Lord, we pray that You would surround him with a community of godly friends, believers who will encourage him in faith, hold him accountable, and reflect Your love. May these relationships be rooted in Christ, where iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17), and may they point him toward Your will for his life. We ask that You prepare his heart for the gift of marriage, if that is Your plan for him. Father, lead him to a godly spouse, a woman who loves You above all else, who will walk beside him in faith, and who will honor the covenant of marriage as You designed it (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:22-33).
We must gently but firmly address the language used in this request. The term "partner" can often carry connotations that do not align with biblical principles. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman, established by You for life (Matthew 19:4-6). We encourage your son to seek a spouse, a wife, who shares his faith in Christ, for "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14). Courtship should be pursued with purity, intentionality, and the goal of marriage, not merely companionship or emotional fulfillment outside of Your design.
Lord, we rebuke any loneliness or temptation that may lead him astray from Your will. Guard his heart from relationships that do not honor You, and protect him from the snares of the enemy. May he find his ultimate satisfaction in You (Psalm 37:4) and trust in Your timing for all things. If he is not yet walking closely with You, we pray that he would surrender his life fully to Jesus Christ, for "there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
We declare over him the promise of Your Word: "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). May he seek You first, and may all else, including godly friendships and a future marriage, be added unto him (Matthew 6:33). Strengthen his faith, deepen his prayer life, and fill him with Your peace as he waits on You.
Father, we also pray for this mother, that You would comfort her and give her wisdom as she supports her son from afar. May she find her own strength in You and trust You with his life. Let her words and prayers be a source of encouragement that points him to Christ.
We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
