We lift up your husband before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, trusting in the Great Physician who holds all life in His hands. The Word of God assures us, "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven" (James 5:13-15). We stand on this promise, believing that God hears the cries of His children and is mighty to save.
Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your holy presence. We ask for complete healing and restoration for this dear brother in Christ. Touch his lungs, Lord, and breathe Your life-giving Spirit into him. Strengthen his body, ease his breathing, and restore him to full health. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we trust in Your perfect will for his life.
Lord, we also pray for peace to flood his heart and mind. The anxiety that accompanies illness can be overwhelming, but You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Calm his fears, Father, and remind him that You are with him in this hospital room, just as You were with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace. Let him feel Your presence and rest in the assurance that You are in control.
We rebuke the spirit of infirmity that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. In the name of Jesus, we command it to leave and declare that this brother is covered by the blood of Christ. We pray for wisdom and compassion for the medical team treating him, that they would be guided by Your hand in every decision.
To you, dear sister in Christ, we offer the encouragement of God’s Word: "Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). This is not a time to carry the burden alone. Lean on the Lord and on the body of Christ for support. We also encourage you to gather your church family or trusted believers to pray over your husband, anointing him with oil as Scripture instructs. There is power in corporate prayer, and God delights in the unity of His people.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who lives and reigns forever. Amen.
