Please pray for us

Beloved of All
It’s been a year I miss her so much, I know we still Love each other but circumstances are horrible. Lord I love this woman with all my heart I want to be in union with her. If it doesn’t align with your will God allow me to surrender to you. Amen

We have heard your heart and we join with you in bringing this deep longing before the Lord. We understand the ache of missing someone you love so dearly for a year, and the pain of loving each other while facing horrible circumstances that keep you apart. It is a beautiful and mature thing that you have prayed for surrender to God's will even as you hold this love in your heart.

We take comfort that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Your desire to surrender is exactly what God honors.

We want to encourage you to seek God's will for this union in a way that honors Him. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman designed by God, where the two become one flesh as Jesus taught in Matthew 19:6 So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart. If this woman is to be your wife, then we pray that your courtship would be purposeful toward godly marriage, not simply a partnership or dating relationship without direction. We encourage you to pursue her as a potential godly spouse, seeking to know if you are equally yoked as fellow believers in Christ, for 2 Corinthians 6:14 tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. And if you have shared physical intimacy outside of marriage, we lovingly urge you to turn from that, for Scripture calls us to flee sexual immorality and to pursue purity, because 1 Thessalonians 4:3 says For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality. True love waits and protects and honors God and one another within the covenant of marriage.

We also noticed your prayer spoke of Lord and God but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We share this in love because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To know God's will and to surrender fully, we must first come through faith in Jesus, believing He died for our sins and rose again, and trusting Him as Lord and Savior. We encourage you to place your entire hope, including this relationship, at the foot of the cross.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear brother and the woman he loves. You know their hearts, You know their love for one another, and You know the horrible circumstances that have kept them apart for a year. Lord, we ask for Your perfect will to be done in their lives. If it is Your will for them to be joined together in holy marriage, we pray You would remove the obstacles, heal what is broken, provide wisdom and provision, and lead them in purity and godliness toward that covenant. If it is not Your will for them to be together, we ask for Your grace to help him surrender fully to You, to find peace and contentment in Your plan. Comfort his aching heart, Lord, and help him to delight himself in You, trusting Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Give him strength to wait on You, to trust Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Make his path straight as he acknowledges You, and draw both of them closer to Jesus above all else. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to seek godly counsel from mature believers, and to guard your heart while you wait. Romans 8:28 assures us We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Whether God restores this relationship toward marriage or leads you in a different direction, He will use this season to shape you more into the image of Christ as you surrender to Him.

We hear the ache in your words. A whole year of missing someone you love deeply is a long road, especially when you still feel love on both sides but the circumstances keep you apart. It is understandable to feel torn between hoping for union and wanting to truly surrender to what God wants.

That prayer you prayed at the end, asking God to help you surrender if this is not His will, is a brave and honest place to come to. Surrender rarely happens all at once. We have found it helps to bring it to Him daily, not as a one time decision but as a quiet, ongoing offering, and to let trusted community walk with you in it so loneliness does not push you into isolation.

One gentle step that may help in the weeks ahead is to stay rooted in regular fellowship, whether that is worship with others on Sundays or a small group or a trusted pastor or mentor you can be honest with about both the hope and the hurt. Sharing the burden out loud keeps perspective and keeps your heart supported while you wait for clarity.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus name. You see his love, his longing, and his willingness to yield to You. Give him Your peace that steadies him day by day, wisdom for each next decision, and comfort in the loneliness. Lead him clearly according to Your will and shape his heart to rest in Your goodness whatever the outcome. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace, where God hears the cries of those who seek Him with an honest heart.

You speak of a deep love and a painful yearning through a year of separation, and you add that holy and necessary prayer, that if this desire does not align with His will, He would enable you to surrender to Him. In that last petition there is much wisdom, for God's desire is truth in the inward parts, and He would have our religion to be not merely upon the lip but in the vital and hidden part of the soul. He says, My son, give Me your heart, and where the heart is truly given, the will is made to bend to His will.

We are taught that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. This is the comfortable conviction of all God's people, that God rules and overrules, and from seeming evil still produces good. Your circumstances you call horrible, and your heart is heavy with missing one you love. Go then to your Father's house for comfort. Do not run first to your own schemes or to the counsel of neighbors, but look into God's Word for comfort and ask the Lord when He will comfort you. He will not fail you nor forsake you in the path of duty.

If your desire is to be in union with this woman, hear what the Lord has ordained. Marriage is His holy institution, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and it is within that covenant alone that the union of love and of the body is blessed by Him. Sex and living together belong within it, not outside it. Therefore we cannot ask God to bless a union that would run against His command, but we can and do ask Him to make your way plain in holiness. If it be His will that you should be joined together, may it be in that reverent and lawful estate, entered into soberly and in the fear of God, with purity and patience and keeping of His commandments. If it be not His will, may He in mercy change your will and make you willing in the day of His power, for He works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure, and sanctification itself is according to His holy will.

God is love, and His love has not been shown in mere words but in action, in giving His Son to die for sinners and His Spirit to dwell in those who are renewed. It is because He loves you that He will not leave you to follow a path to your injury, and all your trials and troubles, when you love Him and are called according to His purpose, are sent in love and will in the end be seen to have worked for your good. The new birth and the growth in holiness are the fruit of His will, and the work of the Spirit is to change the human heart so that it desires what God desires.

We pray for you now that the Lord would give you truth in the inward parts and in the hidden part make you to know wisdom. May He search your heart and purify your love, that it may be patient, holy and self denying. May He grant you increased faith to rise out of weakness and be made strong to obey, whatever the cost. May He comfort you from His Word as you wait upon Him, and keep you from hasty steps taken in sorrow.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, You know the heart of this Your servant and the heaviness that has lain upon him for a year. You know his love and his longing. We ask You to have mercy upon him and upon the one he loves, and to draw you both first to the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation. If it be Your will, open the way for a holy union in the covenant of marriage, in purity and in Your fear. If it be not Your will, grant him grace to surrender, to love You with all his heart and to keep Your commandments. Make him to know wisdom in the hidden part, and let all things, even this sorrow, work together for his good as he loves You and is called according to Your purpose. Give him comfort from Your Word and strength to do Your will, and let Your will be done in his life as in heaven. For Christ's sake we ask it, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
