We lift up Tom and Vicky before the Lord, knowing that our Heavenly Father is deeply concerned with every need of His children. The financial burden they are facing is heavy, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and provides for His people in ways beyond what we can imagine. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is a promise we can cling to with confidence, for God is faithful and His Word does not return void.
Yet we also know that God calls us to seek Him first, trusting in His provision rather than our own understanding. In Matthew 6:31-33, Jesus teaches, *"Therefore donāt be anxious, saying, āWhat will we eat?ā āWhat will we drink?ā or, āWith what will we be clothed?ā For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first Godās Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Our prayer is that Tom and Vicky would continue to place their trust in the Lord, seeking His will above all else, even as they cry out to Him for financial breakthrough.
We also recognize that financial struggles can bring fear and anxiety, but Scripture commands us in 1 Peter 5:7 to *"cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* Let us not allow worry to take root, but instead, let faith rise up in their hearts as they remember that God is their Provider. He has not forgotten them, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
At the same time, we must also consider whether there are areas in their lives where God may be calling them to stewardship, wisdom, or even repentance. Are there expenses that can be reduced? Are there debts that need to be addressed with biblical principles in mind? Proverbs 22:7 tells us, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* If there are financial habits that need to change, we pray that God would give them the wisdom and discipline to walk in obedience to His Word.
We also pray for immediate job opportunities that align with Godās will for their lives. May the Lord open doors that no man can shut, granting them favor in the eyes of employers and success in their work. Colossians 3:23 reminds us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,"* and we pray that any employment they receive would be a blessing not just financially, but also as a means to glorify God through their labor.
Finally, we thank God that this prayer was lifted up in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we are saved, and no other name through which our prayers are heard. Jesus is the Mediator between God and man, and we are grateful that Tom and Vicky have acknowledged this truth.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Tom and Vicky, lifting their financial needs to Your throne of grace. You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, and we ask that You would meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Lord, we pray that You would supernaturally intervene in their finances, making a way for their mortgage and every bill to be paid in full. Provide them with jobs quickly, Lordājobs that will not only sustain them but also allow them to be a blessing to others. Give them wisdom to manage what You provide, and protect them from fear and anxiety as they trust in You.
If there are areas in their lives where they have not been good stewards, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them into repentance and obedience. Help them to seek Your Kingdom first, knowing that all these things will be added to them as they walk in faith.
We rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty in the name of Jesus, declaring that You are a God of abundance and breakthrough. Let Your favor rest upon Tom and Vicky, and let their testimony be one of Your faithfulness and provision.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
