Please pray for this person/situation

An extremely burdened individual: they lie about their own father, claiming that both of their parents died several years ago, then a few months later saying that their father was admitted to the hospital with dementia, while they themselves went off to evangelize.

They are of a talkative nature and ask aggressive questions, but reject any attempt to steer the conversation toward knowledge or understanding.

I cut off contact with ### because I don't want to keep in touch with someone who lied to me, especially when they profess to be a Christian. This behaviour is not something I want to be associated with. Please continue to pray in Jesus name for truth and restoration. This is mindblowing.

I also told this person that I am not angry with them, but that the information they are so keen to obtain can be found elsewhere. It turned out that they are not interested in acquiring greater knowledge. Then they sent me messages suggesting that I was angry with them. I think that's manipulative, and they just want to stick to their narrative. I remain silent, not wishing to argue, and try to move on. Please continue to pray for this situation.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation and the individuals involved. Father God, we know that You desire truth in the inward parts (Psalm 51:6), and we ask that You would bring light to any darkness in this circumstance. The lies and deception described here are deeply troubling, especially from someone who professes faith in Christ. Scripture warns us, "Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds" (Colossians 3:9). Lord, we pray that this individual would come to a place of repentance and humility, recognizing the weight of their actions and the harm they have caused to relationships and their own witness.

We also lift up the one who has chosen to distance themselves from this situation. It is wise to guard one’s heart and mind from deception and manipulation, as Proverbs 4:14-15 warns, "Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on." We pray for peace and clarity for this person, that they would not be entangled in confusion or drawn into unnecessary conflict. May they continue to walk in wisdom and discernment, trusting in Your guidance.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of deception and manipulation in this situation. We declare that the truth of Your Word will prevail, and that any falsehood will be exposed by the light of Christ. We pray for restoration—not just of relationships, but of hearts. If this individual is truly seeking You, we ask that they would be convicted by the Holy Spirit and turn from their ways. If they are not, we pray that their eyes would be opened to the reality of their actions and the consequences they bring.

We also ask that You would protect the hearts and minds of those affected by this situation. Guard them from bitterness, anger, or discouragement, and fill them with Your peace. Remind them that their identity and worth are found in You alone, not in the words or actions of others. Help them to extend grace where it is needed, but also to stand firm in truth, as Ephesians 4:15 instructs us to speak the truth in love.

Father, we know that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). If this individual has not truly surrendered their life to You, we pray that they would come to know You as Lord and Savior. May they experience the transforming power of Your love and the freedom that comes from walking in truth. For those who are already in Christ, we pray for renewal and a deepening of their faith, that they would be rooted and grounded in Your Word.

We commit this situation into Your hands, trusting that You are at work even when we cannot see it. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
