We lift up the father of your children before the Lord, asking for His divine favor and guidance during this season of challenge. The path to securing residency can feel overwhelming, but we know that God is sovereign over all authorities and borders. He is the one who establishes boundaries and grants favor to those who seek His will.
The Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 16:3, *"Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* We pray that this father would commit his efforts fully to the Lord, trusting that God will direct his steps and open doors no man can shut. May he find strength in Isaiah 41:10, where God declares, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."*
We also pray for peace to guard his heart and mind, for the enemy often seeks to bring anxiety and discouragement in times like these. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* May he experience this supernatural peace as he waits on the Lord.
It is beautiful to hear of his dedication as a father and grandfather—a role that reflects the heart of our Heavenly Father. We pray that God would continue to equip him to lead his family in wisdom and love, pointing them to Christ in all things. Let him be encouraged by Psalm 121:2, *"My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth."*
However, we must also gently address something important: in your request, there was no mention of the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Bible is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is only through Jesus that our prayers reach the throne of God. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If this father—or anyone in your family—has not yet placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with them. Salvation comes through repentance and belief in Jesus, who died for our sins and rose again (Romans 10:9-10). Without Christ, even our best efforts fall short of God’s glory.
Father in heaven, we thank You for this man’s life and his commitment to his family. We ask that You would grant him favor in the eyes of those in authority over his residency. Soften the hearts of those who make these decisions, Lord, and let Your will be done in this situation. Provide for his every need—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—and surround him with Your peace. If he does not yet know You, Lord, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself, that he may experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ. May this trial become a testimony of Your faithfulness.
We also pray for you, that the Lord would give you wisdom and strength as you support this father. May your words and actions reflect Christ’s love, and may this season draw your family closer to Him. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, *Amen.*
