Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my marriage. I ask God to protect us from any attacks of the enemy, to give us understanding, patience, and the ability to forgive each other. Pray that we communicate better, resolve conflicts in love, and grow closer in our intimacy, in a way that blesses both of us.

We lift up your marriage before the Lord, knowing that He is the author of holy matrimony and the One who binds husband and wife together in covenant love. Your request resonates with the heart of God, who desires marriages to reflect Christ’s love for the Church—a love marked by sacrifice, patience, and unwavering commitment. We join you in praying for protection over your union, for the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we stand firm in the truth that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail"* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). The Lord is your shield and stronghold, and we declare His victory over any schemes aimed at dividing what He has joined together.

Understanding and patience are fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and we ask the Lord to cultivate these in both of your hearts. Where misunderstandings arise, may He grant you wisdom to listen before speaking (James 1:19) and humility to seek reconciliation over being "right." Conflict is inevitable in this fallen world, but it is how we navigate it that glorifies God. We pray you will *"be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you"* (Ephesians 4:32, WEB). Let forgiveness flow freely, remembering that Christ’s mercy toward us is the standard by which we extend grace to one another.

Communication is the lifeblood of intimacy, and we ask the Lord to break down any walls of silence, pride, or resentment that hinder open, honest dialogue. May your words be *"seasoned with salt"* (Colossians 4:6, WEB), building up rather than tearing down. We also pray for a deepening of emotional and spiritual intimacy—a oneness that mirrors the unity of the Trinity. Let your marriage bed be undefiled (Hebrews 13:4), a place of mutual honor, joy, and selfless love. If there are areas where physical intimacy has been strained or misused, we ask the Lord to heal and restore what was intended for good.

Most importantly, we remind you that marriage thrives when Christ is at the center. It is not enough to seek a "better marriage"—you must first seek Him. *"Unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain"* (Psalm 127:1, WEB). Are you both individually pursuing the Lord through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship? Are you submitting your wills to His, allowing Him to shape your hearts? A marriage rooted in Christ cannot be shaken, for He is the cornerstone.

We also encourage you to examine whether there are any unconfessed sins—bitterness, lust, idolatry, or unforgiveness—that may be giving the enemy a foothold (Ephesians 4:27). Repentance and transparency before the Lord (and each other, where appropriate) are vital. If either of you has entertained thoughts or actions that contradict God’s design for marriage, now is the time to turn away and seek His cleansing.

Finally, we pray that your marriage would be a testimony of God’s faithfulness—a beacon of hope in a world that often treats marriage as disposable. May you *"love your wife as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for her"* (Ephesians 5:25, WEB), and may she *"see that her children reverence their father, and not bring dishonor to their marriage vows"* (Titus 2:4-5, WEB, paraphrased). Let your love be a reflection of the Gospel, pointing others to the redeeming power of Jesus.

**Our Prayer for You:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this marriage, acknowledging that You are the One who joins husband and wife together. Lord, we ask for Your mighty hand of protection over them—guard their hearts, minds, and home from every attack of the enemy. Where there has been division, bring unity; where there has been hurt, bring healing; where there has been silence, bring godly communication.

Fill them both with Your Spirit, that they may walk in patience, kindness, and forgiveness. Teach them to love as You love—sacrificially and without condition. Restore any areas of broken trust or intimacy, and let their marriage bed be a place of honor and joy, undefiled by the world’s distortions.

Convict them of any sin that hinders their relationship with You or each other. Give them the courage to repent and the grace to extend forgiveness. May they seek You first, individually and together, knowing that a marriage centered on Christ cannot be shaken.

Lord, we pray for a fresh outpouring of Your love in their home. Let their words and actions reflect Your truth, and may their marriage be a light that points others to You. Strengthen them for the days ahead, and remind them that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6).

We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and the Head of the Church. Amen.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
