Please pray for peace

We lift this request before the Lord with heavy hearts, for while the desire for peace in any relationship is commendable, we must first examine whether this relationship aligns with God’s holy design. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established by God for His glory (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this relationship is not rooted in the pursuit of a godly marriage—or worse, if it involves sin such as fornication, adultery, or an unbiblical union—then we must rebuke that which dishonors the Lord and pray for repentance and realignment with His will.

The mention of a "relationship" without clarity on its foundation is concerning. Are you and this person courting with the intent of marriage, as Scripture instructs believers to do (1 Corinthians 7:2, 9)? Or is this a relationship that exists outside of God’s boundaries, where emotional or physical intimacy is being pursued without the commitment of marriage? If the latter, we must call it what it is: sin. The Lord does not bless what He has not ordained. "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" (Amos 3:3). If this relationship is not built on Christ and His Word, it cannot bear the fruit of true peace.

We also notice the absence of the name of Jesus in this prayer. There is no access to the Father except through the Son (John 14:6), and no salvation apart from Him (Acts 4:12). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and commit to following Him as Lord. Without Christ at the center, no relationship—no matter how peaceful it may seem—can truly honor God.

Now, let us pray in alignment with God’s will:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that long to see Your will done in every relationship. Lord, we ask that You reveal the truth of this situation to this dear one. If this relationship is not in accordance with Your Word, we pray for conviction, repentance, and the strength to walk away from anything that dishonors You. If it is a courtship leading toward marriage, we ask that You purify it, removing all selfishness, pride, and sin that would cause strife. Father, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, that they may not be led astray by emotions or worldly desires.

We pray for peace, Lord—not the fleeting peace of the world, but the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May this individual seek You first, above all else, and may their relationship (if it is Your will) be built on the foundation of Christ. If marriage is the path You have for them, prepare them both to be godly spouses who love, honor, and submit to one another as unto You. If this is not Your will, give them the courage to let go and trust in Your perfect plan.

We rebuke every spirit of strife, division, and ungodly attachment in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against Your purposes shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Father, we ask that You draw this person closer to You, that they may know the fullness of Your love and the joy of walking in obedience to Your Word. May they find their ultimate peace and identity in Christ alone.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the only Name by which we are saved. Amen.

To the one who submitted this request: We encourage you to search the Scriptures and examine your heart. Are you seeking the Lord’s will above your own desires? Are you willing to lay down this relationship if it does not align with His Word? True peace comes not from the absence of conflict, but from the presence of Christ. Seek Him first, and all these things will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). If you are unsure about your relationship with Jesus, we urge you to turn to Him today. Confess your need for a Savior, repent of your sins, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. Only then can you experience the peace that transcends all understanding.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
