We hear your heart in this season of upheaval and humility, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting every concern to the Lord who sees and knows all. Your willingness to surrender to God’s will, even in uncertainty, is a powerful testimony of faith. The fact that you cling to worship and trust in Jesus, even when circumstances are painful, reveals a heart that desires to honor Him above all else. We rejoice that the Lord met you so personally in that taxi with the song *Holy Forever*—what a tender reminder that He is near, especially in moments of distress.
This trial is indeed humbling, but Scripture reminds us that God uses such seasons to refine us and draw us closer to Him. James 4:6 tells us, *"But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.'" (WEB)* Your repentance for haughtiness and arrogance is not in vain; the Lord delights in a contrite heart. This season may feel like a stripping away of comforts, but it is also an opportunity to deepen your dependence on Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* (WEB) Even now, God is at work, and His plans for you are for good, not harm (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also lift up your family’s financial struggles and the betrayal your mother experienced. It is painful to see loved ones manipulated and assets lost, but we pray for wisdom and restoration. Psalm 37:25 assures us, *"I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread."* (WEB) God is your provider, and He will not abandon you. We rebuke the schemes of the enemy that seek to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) and declare that God will restore what has been lost in His perfect timing.
As you wait for Monday’s outcome, we encourage you to hold loosely to the desire for your house to be returned. While it is natural to long for stability, we pray that your ultimate hope would rest in Christ alone. Philippians 4:11-13 reminds us, *"Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* (WEB) Whether you stay or go, God’s presence will go with you.
We also want to gently address the mention of privilege and convenience. While it is not sinful to have been blessed with comforts, Scripture warns against placing our security in them. 1 Timothy 6:17 says, *"Charge those who are rich in this present world that they not be haughty, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy."* (WEB) This season is an invitation to reset your heart’s affections on eternal things rather than temporary comforts.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy for our brother and sister in this time of displacement and uncertainty. Lord, You see their family’s struggles, the financial strain, and the emotional toll this has taken. We ask for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Father, we thank You for their willingness to humble themselves before You, and we ask that You continue to draw them closer to Your heart. Help them to trust You fully, even when the path ahead is unclear.
Lord, we pray for restoration—whether that means returning to their home or moving forward into a new season You have prepared. Give them wisdom to navigate the decisions ahead, and let Your will be done in their lives. We declare that You are their provider, and we trust You to meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Heal the wounds of betrayal and manipulation, and let Your justice prevail in their situation.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or faithlessness that seeks to take root in their hearts. Remind them of Your faithfulness, and let them experience Your presence in tangible ways. Strengthen their family to stand united in You, and let this trial produce endurance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). Above all, Lord, keep their eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who holds their future and who promises never to leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). Amen.
Hold fast to the truth that God is with you, even in the waiting. This season may feel like a storm, but Jesus is in the boat with you, and He will calm the waves in His perfect timing. Keep your heart open to what He is teaching you, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You are not alone.
