Please pray for my worldly parents who are Christians but have quite strong worldly standards. Pray for their patience and favour, while I'm chasing more spiritual pursuits for a while longer. She has great desires for success for me, and would like nothing more than a rich, successful husband for me. And he would like nothing more than a famous popstar for a son-in-law, as his dream was to be a singer. Fortunately for them, it might be just what they'll be getting - to their rapturous delight. There's nothing more they can't stand than unable men who seek to take on responsibilities that are over their head, i.e., a family. I once disagreed with my parents' view regarding money and marriage, but I no longer do. In fact, I was prejudiced against rich guys, but through my new friends I have seen the error of my bias. Poor guys can be deceitful, narrow, and ignoble, while rich young men, despite their riches, can still be honest, noble, faithful, and dependable. Like my brothers - who are the best! Only a crazy woman would choose the first. Poverty doesn't mean greater faith and character; while riches don't mean lesser faith and character either. However, still, I'd like my parents and other close family to realise that strong character and faith are the most important. I've always had instilled in me this suffering, tragic, sacrificing view of myself. It's what others generally expected and demanded of me as well. (Including these shameless ones who continued to dare entertain hopes regarding my affection even after the ruin they brought upon my life.) I thought that, if I ever had to marry, it'd of course be someone who's disadvantaged. After the last few years, I've realised: why must it be so? There's no law that only some girls are meant to be a princess. Only some are meant for happiness and wealth, and that some must exclude myself. If it were up to me, I'd want someone who has high attainments both spiritually and naturally. And God has given such a person to me.
