Please pray for my ### to find true, caring friends

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My daughter is ### years old. She is struggling with finding friends. I am hurt deeply when she asked my why it's hard for her to find good friends while others don't have this issue. It was my fault for not doing enough when she was younger. I will am asking you to pray for my daughter she can find good, caring, long lasting friends. Please also pray for me and my wife so we do the right thing to help our daughter.

We join with you in prayer for your daughter and for you and your wife as you seek to love and guide her through this painful season, and we bring all of this before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus.

Our hearts ache with you to hear your daughter ask why it is so hard for her to find good friends while others seem to find it so easily. We want to encourage you that God sees her loneliness and He sees your hurt as her parents. He is near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Psalm 68:6 reminds us God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land. He cares deeply about her desire for true friendship.

The Bible shows us what true friendship looks like. Proverbs 17:17 says A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity. And Proverbs 18:24 says A man of many companions may be ruined, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. We pray that God will bring into her life friends who love at all times, who are faithful and caring and who will encourage her in her walk with the Lord, not just companions for a season but godly friendships that endure. We also pray she will find her deepest friendship in Jesus Himself, who calls us friends when we follow Him, and that she will be surrounded by a community of believers where she can grow.

We also hear the burden you are carrying as you say it was your fault for not doing enough when she was younger. We gently encourage you not to carry false guilt or condemnation. If there are things you wish you had done differently, bring them to the Lord in confession and receive His forgiveness and grace, but do not let the enemy accuse you. Romans 8:1 says There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. And Romans 8:28 says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. God is able to redeem every season, and He is still writing your daughter's story. Your love and concern for her now is a beautiful offering to God.

We want to encourage you and your wife to continue to train her in the way she should go as Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. And to nurture her as Ephesians 6:4 says You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Keep listening to her with compassion, validating her feelings without comparing her to others, and help her to seek friendships in places where godly character is valued, such as a Christ centered church, youth group, and service opportunities. Pray with her, read scripture with her about friendship, and model for her what faithful love looks like. Cast all your worries on Him as 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to pray in His name, for there is power and access in that name.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this precious daughter to You. You know her by name, You formed her, You love her more than her parents do, and You see her longing for true and caring friends. We ask that You comfort her heart where she feels lonely and different, and remind her that she is never alone because You are with her. We ask that You provide for her godly, loyal, kind friends who will love her at all times, who will encourage her, sharpen her, and walk with her in truth. Guard her from friendships that would lead her astray and draw her to those who will help her grow in faith and character. Give her confidence in who she is in Christ and help her to be a good friend to others as well.

We also lift up her father and mother. Give them wisdom, grace, and peace as they guide her. Remove the burden of guilt and replace it with Your hope and strength. Help them to do the right things to support her, to listen well, to pray without ceasing, and to point her always to You. Let their home be filled with encouragement and faith, and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We felt the ache in your words, especially when your daughter asked why friendship seems harder for her than for others. It is understandable that question would stay with you, and that you would wonder if you could have done more when she was younger. Please be gentle with yourself as you look back. What matters most now is the love and attention you and your wife are showing her today.

We have found friendships often grow more from steady, everyday nearness than from trying hard to be liked. Seeing the same peers week after week in one or two places where she can be herself, whether a church group, a class, a team or a service opportunity, gives those natural connections time to form. Similarity and shared interests help too, so noticing what she genuinely enjoys and helping her stay in that one consistent setting can matter more than being in many activities at once. At home, simply listening without rushing to fix, and helping her practice small ways to show interest in others and share a little about herself, can build confidence over time.

You are already doing something important by noticing her hurt and wanting to walk with her wisely.

Father, we bring this young girl before You and ask You to surround her with kind, caring companions and to guard her heart from loneliness. Give her parents wisdom, patience and unity as they encourage her, and help them rest in Your grace for the past while they love her well today. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden for your daughter has been heard with deep sympathy, and we have carried it before the throne of grace. To see a child ask why true friends are hard to find is a wound that pierces a parent's heart, and to carry a sense of fault for the past only makes that wound more tender. Yet be assured that the Lord does not despise the love which mourns over a child, nor does He turn away a prayer that seeks His wisdom for her good.

You should know that your daughter's loneliness, though painful, is not unknown to our Savior. He was left alone just when as Man He most needed human sympathy, and He knows what it is to be friendless and forsaken. There are sorrows of the heart which only He can fully understand, when the soul feels its want of fellowship. But this same Jesus has proved His friendship by laying down His life for those He calls His friends, and He reveals Himself to His people while they pour out their hearts to Him. If your daughter is brought to know Christ as her nearest and dearest friend, she will never be truly alone, and from that friendship will flow the capacity for other true and faithful friendships. For friendship is a reciprocal thing, sustained by communion, and the best earthly friends are those who first walk with Christ and then, in obedience to Him, learn to love others faithfully.

Do not let the thought that you have not done enough become a weight to crush you. Wisdom is not found in looking back with endless regret, but in looking up to Him who is the power and wisdom of God. Wisdom is the compass by which we must steer across the trackless waste of life, and it is found not in our own strength but in the word of revelation and in humble trust in God. What you have desired, that your children should walk in truth, is the greatest joy a parent can know, and the Lord who gave you this love for your daughter will give you grace to lead her still. It is never too late to seek His guidance, to open the Scriptures with her, to pray with her, and to set before her the way of wisdom which is found in Christ.

We have prayed and will continue to pray for you all.

O Lord, our gracious Father, look in mercy upon this daughter. Thou knowest her loneliness and her desire for good and caring friends. Provide for her, we beseech Thee, companions who love Thee and who will love her with a pure and faithful love, friends who will help her to walk in Thy truth and to find joy in Thy ways. Keep her from those who would lead her astray, and knit her heart to those who will endure in kindness and truth. Let her find first and most of all her friendship in Christ Jesus, who will never leave her nor forsake her.

And Father, grant to these parents wisdom from above. Forgive wherein they feel they have failed, and fill them with Thy strength and patience. Teach them how to comfort their child, how to guide her with holy example and gentle instruction, and how to trust Thee with her future. Let their home be a place where Thy love is seen and where wisdom dwells, that their daughter may grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hear us for His sake, whose lonely sorrow has secured for us everlasting fellowship. Amen.
