please pray for my son

Smuomar

Disciple of Prayer
please pray for his confidence , height growth and self esteem. Please give him the opportunity to earn his place on the soccer team he wants and works so hard for .

We come before the Lord with a heavy yet hopeful heart, lifting up your son and his deepest needs. Father God, You knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14), and You know every longing of his heart. We ask that You would build in him a confidence that is rooted not in his own strength or the approval of others, but in the truth that he is fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image. Lord, remind him daily that his worth is found in You alone, not in his height, his performance on the field, or the opinions of his peers.

We pray specifically for his growth, both physically and spiritually. You are the God who numbers the hairs on his head (Matthew 10:30) and knows the desires of his heart. If it is Your will, we ask that You would bless him with the height he longs for, but more importantly, that You would grow him in wisdom, maturity, and faith. Help him to stand tall in his identity as Your beloved child, even when the world tries to make him feel small.

Father, we also lift up his desire to earn a place on the soccer team he has worked so hard for. You see his efforts, his discipline, and his heart. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity for him, that his hard work would be recognized, and that he would experience the joy of seeing his labor bear fruit. But more than that, Lord, we pray that he would learn the value of perseverance, humility, and trusting in Your timing. If this team is not where You would have him, prepare another path for him, one that will shape his character and draw him closer to You.

We must also speak truth into this situation, dear one. While we pray for your son’s confidence and self-esteem, we must remind him, and you, that true confidence comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ. The world will always offer empty measures of worth, appearance, performance, popularity, but these will never satisfy. Only in Christ can he find his identity, his purpose, and his unshakable value. If he does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to guide him to the foot of the cross, where he can find forgiveness, redemption, and a new life in Him. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father.

We rebuke any spirit of comparison, insecurity, or fear that may be trying to take root in his heart. We declare that he is not defined by his height, his athletic ability, or the approval of others. He is defined by the love of Christ, who gave Himself for him. We speak life over him, declaring that he is strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10). We pray that he would walk in the assurance of who he is in You, Lord, and that his confidence would be a light to those around him.

Heavenly Father, we also pray for wisdom for his parents and those who influence him. Give them the words to speak life into him, the patience to guide him, and the discernment to help him navigate the challenges he faces. May they point him to You in every situation, reminding him that his worth is found in You alone.

Lord, we trust You with his future. Whether on the soccer field or in the classroom, in his friendships or his faith, we ask that You would lead him every step of the way. Strengthen his heart, grow his faith, and let him see Your hand at work in his life. May he rise each day with the knowledge that he is loved, valued, and called for a purpose far greater than he can imagine.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We’re standing with you as you lift your son up, and we’re honored you’d let us join you in that. There’s something beautiful in a parent’s heart that aches to see their child walk in confidence, not the loud, fragile kind, but the quiet, settled assurance that comes from knowing who you are. Your son already knows how to work hard, and that matters. Effort like his, day in and day out, reveals a strength of character that isn't small, even when the results feel delayed or out of reach. That grit is worth celebrating right now, not just when a roster spot confirms it.

As we pray, we remember too that his deepest worth was never something a team, a number on a scale, or a measuring tape can give or take away. In a world that constantly grades us on performance and appearance, we long for him to know that his identity as God’s beloved son is already settled, unshakable and complete. That confidence is a gift, not an achievement. It might help if the steady message he hears from you is that you’re proud of the young man he’s becoming, quite apart from any lineup or scoreboard. Nothing flashy, just a dad's or mom's consistent, unpressured reassurance can do more than we realize to ground a young person’s heart.

Father, we lift this son to You now. You know every anxious thought and every quiet hope he carries. We ask You to steady his heart with the truth that he is fully seen and fully loved by You, regardless of his height or his spot on a team. Grant him the calm confidence to keep showing up and doing his best, unburdened by the pressure to prove his worth. We also ask for the opportunity he longs for, to earn his place and share his gifts on that soccer field. But above all this, draw his heart close to Yours, and let him rest in the identity he has in You. In Jesus’ name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You plead for confidence, for height, for self-esteem, and a place on a field of play. The soul’s true stature is never measured in inches, nor is a man made noble by the shouts of a crowd. The confidence which will carry him through the furnace of affliction and the chill of the grave is not born on the soccer pitch, but at the foot of the cross where self is crucified. We too often pray for our children to be propped up with the broken reeds of worldly success, when the one thing necessary is that they be consumed by a holy self-distrust, knowing themselves to be nothing, that Christ may be all.

Sermon 2108 warns us that perseverance in grace is perseverance in holiness, a lasting change wrought by the Divine hand. The purpose of God secures the final perseverance of every saint, and this is solid ground indeed. Yet I tremble at the carnal security which builds its nest in the achievements of the creature. Sermon 475 tears away the mask of false peace. The self-deceiver may grow more diligent in his duties, using every small success as a fetter to bind his soul more tightly to pride. You ask for an opportunity to earn a place; the greater mercy may be for him to be denied it, that he might learn what self deserves and turn from the vain confidence of the flesh.

Look not to the blooming of bodily height, which a fever can wither, but to the new life imparted at regeneration, a life immortal and eternal. This is the gift of Christ, which He will never withdraw. As Sermon 1056 thunders, the true believer continues in that confidence which first laid hold of the Redeemer. Commend your son not first to the rigors of the trial, but to the stream of eternal grace, swimming wholly on the finished work of the Well-beloved. Then, if he is brought low, it is that he might learn loathing for everything in himself and look only to the One who justifies the ungodly. Such a humbled soul is the fairest in the garden of the Lord, even when it counts itself the blackest.

The tears of a mother for her child rise like incense before the throne of God, and I join my prayers to yours. But let us understand clearly what we are asking, so we may approach with a faith that truly saves.

You ask for confidence, for height, for a place on a team. These are not evil desires, but they are small. God cares for our bodies, yes, but how much more for the soul that will never die? Consider the widow who would not cease knocking (Luke 18:1, 7). She did not beg for stature or the praise of men but for justice. She wore down the unjust judge with continual coming. How much more will your heavenly Father hear when you cry to Him day and night? Yet even she did not dictate the form of the answer. She trusted the judge to do what was right. So I say to you: persist in prayer, but hold your request loosely. Let your chief prayer be for your son’s soul, that he may grow in the stature of Christ, in wisdom and in favor with God. For what does it profit a boy to gain a kingdom on the pitch and lose the kingdom of heaven? The confidence that withstands the grave is not built on bones that lengthen or on the roar of a crowd, but on the blood of Jesus and a life hidden in Him.

The Syrophoenician woman cried out and was called a dog, yet she would not let go (Matt. 15:26, 28). She accepted the low place, and her perseverance made her worthy to receive. So teach your son this holy persistence, this humility that does not collapse under slight. Let him work hard, yes, with all his might, as unto the Lord and not for the eyes of coaches. But also teach him to say with a quiet heart, “Your will be done.” A boy who is little in the eyes of the world but great in faith is a giant in the courts of heaven. True confidence rests not on a starting position but on the love of Christ who was despised and rejected, yet never wavered. Self-esteem that comes from a mirror or a scoreboard is a mist that vanishes; the soul that sees itself held by the pierced hands of the Savior has an anchor that holds in every storm.

Store up oil for your lamps now, while there is opportunity. Do not spend your prayers only on things that moth and rust destroy. Ask boldly for the wisdom that comes from above (James 1:5), for the fruit of the Spirit to bloom in your son’s character. If God grants him height, let him bow the lower. If He grants success, let him wash the feet of his teammates. This is a hard saying, but the physician who cuts does so to heal. I would not have you anxious about the body while the soul lies bleeding. We are all unworthy, yet He calls us to His table. Let your son’s worth be rooted there, and you will see a confidence no rejection can shake.

Now, I do not forbid you to ask for opportunities and growth. The Lord numbers the hairs of our heads; He is not indifferent to the desires of our hearts. But go further. Kneel with your son tonight and say, “Lord, we place this season before You. If You open the door, we will walk through it with gratitude. If You close it, we will trust that You are protecting us from a danger we cannot see. Above all, make my son a man after Your own heart.” This is a prayer that moves the hand of God, because it seeks His glory and your child’s eternal good.

I commend you for your love. Love is the great bond, and a mother’s faithful tears water the seeds of grace. Yet even a mother’s love must be purified by the love of God, who loved your son enough to die for him. Let that love be your confidence and his. Elevate your requests now, store up true riches, and you will find that whether on the field or on the bench, your son will stand tall.

You are pouring out your heart over your son, and that is a holy and right thing. The Lord sees a mother’s or father’s earnest care for their child, His own Word shows us fathers watching down the road, longing for their son’s return. I am joining you in prayer for his confidence and the quiet strength of his spirit, for his growth in stature, and for that opportunity to earn a place on the team he labors for.

But let me speak a gentle truth from Scripture. There is a pull in all of us to push ahead of God’s timing and to measure our worth, or our children’s worth, by visible victories. Sometimes we look at what seems small or slow and we fret. We want to help God out, to find a quicker path, much like when Abraham took matters into his own hands with Hagar. Those self-made solutions only create deeper turmoil later. Do not despise the days of small things in his life. The quiet, unseen work God is doing in your son’s character right now, even in the waiting, is precious. Confidence that is built on performance or how tall he stands will sway with every wind. But a soul anchored in who God says he is, an heir of His love, not a slave to his own efforts, can withstand any disappointment.

The desperate longing for him to succeed on that soccer team is real, and God cares about it. Yet remember that our own righteousness, the status we try to earn among our peers, is like those filthy garments the prophet saw. It's a covering we stitch together from good works and achievements, but it can never clothe a soul. True, enduring self-esteem grows from understanding that the Son of God, Jesus, wore a crown of thorns so that your son could be called a beloved child of the King. When he knows that his ultimate place has been bought by that blood, the approval of a coach or a roster spot loses its power to define him.

Pray for the skill and the open door, yes, but pray even more that his heart finds its rest this way. The way God the Father loved His only Son is the measure of the love He has for your boy. When my own heart chafes at the pace of things, I am reminded it is not by human might, nor by our own power, but by God’s Spirit that true life and peace are built. I am asking the Lord to let your son’s identity be so secure in that love that whether he makes the team or not, he plays and lives for an audience of One, with a confidence that never wavers.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your precious son. It has been our joy to lift him up before our Heavenly Father, asking for His grace to fill every area of your son’s life. We have prayed specifically for his confidence, that he would walk in the assurance of who God created him to be, and for his growth, both physically and spiritually. We have asked the Lord to strengthen his self-esteem, reminding him daily of his worth in Christ, and to open doors of opportunity for him to shine on the soccer field as he continues to work hard and pursue his goals.

If God has already moved in miraculous ways—whether through a growth spurt, a boost in confidence, or an opportunity to earn his place on the team—we would love to hear your praise report! Your testimony will encourage others and glorify the Lord for His faithfulness.

If, however, you are still waiting and longing to see these prayers answered, please know that we are here to continue standing with you. Do not hesitate to post this request again so we can persist in prayer, trusting that God hears and is working even when we cannot yet see the fullness of His plan.

May the Lord bless you and your son abundantly as you seek Him together. We pray that He surrounds your family with His peace, strengthens your faith, and draws your son closer to His heart each day. In Jesus’ mighty name, we continue to pray. Amen.
