Please pray for my right hand

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I have injured the fingers on my right hand. The right thumb is stiff it cannot bend. The nail on my right index finger is damaged and I am suffering from a swollen knuckle on the little finger on my right hand. The joint on my right index finger in my right hand is swollen as well. I have been going through therapy for almost a year to correct the knuckle on the little finger but it hasn't help the knuckle is the same way. I am frustrated and I am going through unbearable pain and discomfort especially with my right index finger and my little finger on my right hand. If anything acidic gets on the damaged nail of my right index finger it burns unbearably. Please pray for God to touch the fingers and nail on my right hand and make them perfect again. I am not getting anywhere. I used dozens of antibiotics for my right index nail but no help at all. Please pray for me. Please pray for the sender of this request. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your injured hand and the pain you’ve endured for so long. The stiffness in your thumb, the damaged nail, the swollen knuckles, these afflictions have weighed on you, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God hears your cry. The frustration and discomfort you feel are real, and we do not dismiss them lightly. Instead, we bring them before the Great Physician, who formed your hands with purpose and knows every fiber of your being.

The Word reminds us in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Your pain is not unseen by God, and your struggle is not in vain. Even when medical treatments fall short, His power is not limited. We declare healing over your hand, over every stiff joint, every damaged nail, and every swollen knuckle. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name and command restoration to flow into your fingers, that they may move freely and without pain once more.

In Jeremiah 30:17, the Lord says, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds." We hold fast to this promise, trusting that God’s timing is perfect, even when ours feels exhausted. The enemy may whisper that you are forgotten, but we declare that you are deeply loved by the One who knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). Your hands were designed for His work, and we pray they would be fully restored to serve Him without hindrance.

We also lift up your heart, for chronic pain can wear down not just the body but the spirit. Proverbs 17:22 tells us, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." We ask the Lord to fill you with His peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7), to guard your mind from despair, and to remind you daily of His faithfulness. You are not alone in this battle, we stand with you in prayer, and the Holy Spirit intercedes for you with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26).

Father God, we come before You now, laying this dear one’s hand into Your hands. You are the God who made the heavens and the earth, yet You also number the hairs on our heads (Matthew 10:30). How much more do You care for the work of Your hands? We ask You to touch each finger, each joint, and each nail. Bring healing where there is damage, strength where there is weakness, and relief where there is pain. Let Your healing virtue flow like a river, washing away every trace of injury and restoring full function and comfort.

We break every assignment of the enemy against this hand in Jesus’ name. No weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we declare that your hand is not cursed but blessed. We speak life over dead cells, restoration over damaged tissues, and wholeness over every part that has been afflicted. May your hand testify to God’s glory, that others may see and know that He is the Lord who heals (Exodus 15:26).

We also pray for wisdom for the medical professionals involved in your care. Guide their hands and minds, Lord, to discern the root of this issue and to administer the right treatments. If there is a path to healing they have not yet considered, reveal it to them. But above all, we trust in You, for You are the ultimate Healer.

Lastly, we ask You to draw this precious one closer to You through this trial. May they find their strength in You, their comfort in Your Word, and their hope in Your promises. Remind them that even when the journey is long, You are with them, and Your grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9). Fill them with patience, perseverance, and an unshakable faith that looks to You as their source of healing and peace.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We are truly sorry for the ongoing pain and frustration you are carrying with your hand. It is disheartening when long-term treatment and so many antibiotics seem to bring no relief, and we can only imagine the discouragement of daily discomfort in something as central as your right hand. It makes sense that you would feel worn down. Please know you are not alone in this, we are lifting you up and trusting God with every detail, from the thumb that won’t bend to the damaged nail and swollen joints.

One practical step we gently encourage is to consider asking for a fresh set of eyes on your hand. Since therapy has stalled for nearly a year and antibiotics haven’t helped the nail, a hand specialist or a consult with an orthopedic hand surgeon might open a new door, not because your current care has failed, but because sometimes a different perspective can uncover something missed or suggest a different approach God could use for healing. We are not doctors and cannot guess at a diagnosis, but we do want you to have every possible avenue toward relief.

Even as you pursue that, we are praying with you now for God’s direct touch, for wisdom for any providers you see, and for your own peace in the waiting. Please do not lose heart; your perseverance through this pain is seen, and He is near.

Would you pray with us?

Lord Jesus, we bring this dear person before You, every finger, every joint, the damaged nail, the stiff thumb. You know the pain they have endured for so long. We ask for Your healing hand to restore what is broken, to ease the swelling, and to calm the burning. Grant wisdom to doctors and therapists, open new paths toward recovery, and steady this heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

What a trial of pain and patience you are enduring! For nearly a year you have sought healing through therapy and medicines, yet the stiff thumb, the swollen knuckles, the damaged nail with its burning agony, all remain. It is no wonder frustration has crept in with the suffering. But let me lift your eyes away from the weary round of treatments that have failed, and direct them to a Physician who never fails. He stands at the right hand of God, and the very hem of His garment is charged with healing virtue. If you can but touch Him by faith, the power that made the withered hand stretch forth whole can make these fingers perfect again.

Oh, do not be satisfied with pressing near to Him in the crowd of hearers, or with touching those who have been healed. Many thronged the Savior, yet only the woman who touched with desperate, personal faith drew forth the cure. The antibiotics and therapies are but leaves from the tree of earthly medicine, and even the best of them cannot give life. But the leaves of the tree which is Christ are for the healing of the nations, even the least thing about Him is full of restoring power. His touch opened deaf ears, His word straightened maimed limbs, and a look from His eyes softened hard hearts. Shall He not mend a swollen knuckle? Shall He not restore a stiff thumb? Shall His Atonement, which cost Him so dear, fail to reach to the injured nail of your index finger?

Healing and pardon go hand in hand from the same pardoning hand. When Jesus saw the man sick of the palsy, He first forgave his sins, and then bade him take up his bed and walk. If you are crushed under the pain, it may be that He would have you taste first the forgiveness that removeth the guilt of sin, and then the cure that remitteth the penalty. Yet I find no stint in His healing energy. He never turned away a single soul that sought Him for bodily or spiritual wholeness. That woman with the issue of blood had spent all her living and suffered many things of many physicians, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse. It was when she touched but the border of His garment that she felt in her body she was healed of that plague. So may it be with you: after the year of disappointment, after the dozens of antibiotics and the futile therapy, let faith reach out and lay hold on Christ Himself.

Prayer is the hand that touches the unseen. Cry to Him now, not with a listless whisper, but with the bold grasp of one who will not let Him go except He bless. Say, "Lord, Thou knowest this right hand, Thou who didst form it in the womb, Thou who didst bear the nails through Thine own blessed hands for my redemption. Touch these fingers, repair this nail, soften these joints, and make them perfect as in the days of health. I believe Thy power, I trust Thy love, I rest upon Thy promise." He will not despise such a prayer. Faith and fear may go hand in hand for a while, as yours do now, fearing the pain will never end, yet daring to trust. But perfect love will cast out fear, and the hand now lifted in supplication shall be lifted soon in praise.

May the Lord visit you with His healing touch, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of unbearable pain and frustration, yet consider this: there is no injury done to you unless you yourself have done injury. The one who endures affliction nobly is crowned and proclaimed blessed, while the one who spoils or wrongs another is the truly wretched. Your fingers ache, your nail burns, and the therapies bring no relief. But is this not the very arena where God wills to show His power? The day calls us to battle array, but do not fear. The arms we put on are arms of light, and the struggle is not a heavy toil but a solemn dance when we bear it with thanksgiving.

Your letter is full of complaint, listing every swollen joint and stiff thumb as if they were injustices done against you. But who is wronged here? Not your soul, unless you let impatience and bitterness spoil it. The body suffers, and rightly you seek prayer, but the greater prayer is for a spirit that does not break under the weight of flesh. If an acidic substance touches the nail and burns, how much more does a murmuring heart corrode the inner man? I would not have you ignore the body, but I would have you see that God permits these things to teach you where true health lies. What profit was it to Cain that his body was whole when envy had thrust a sword into his own soul? You have used many remedies without success. Perhaps God withholds healing to cure a deeper disease: the frantic demand for comfort at any cost.

Be not like those who, when they cannot mend their broken vessel, rage against the potter. Even the fiercest beasts will not harm thee if thou dost not provoke them, God’s governance does no wrong. If He permits this hand to remain weak, it is because His power is perfected in weakness. I do not bid you to cease praying for relief, but I bid you most of all to pray for endurance that brings a crown. Let this right hand, which cannot yet bend or grasp without pain, become a reminder to cling to the right hand of God, where Christ stands in glory. His kingdom is not cut off, nor His faithful promises denied you. When you have learned to suffer nobly, then truly no injury has touched you at all.

I am praying for you, and I want you to know that your pain and frustration are not lost on God. When our right hand the very hand of strength, skill, and daily service is injured, it can feel as though your whole world has narrowed to that ache. You have been doing the right things: therapy, treatment, trying to mend what is broken, yet the knuckle remains stiff, the nail remains raw and vulnerable to the slightest acid touch. You asked for prayer for the sender of this request, and I am lifting you up before the throne.

God’s own right hand is described in Scripture as glorious in power, the hand that parts seas and saves His people. The same hand that stretched out over Egypt and brought deliverance is the hand that now holds you. And here is what gives me hope for you right now: Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of the Father, and He lives to make intercession for us. He is not distant from your suffering. He prays that your faith will not fail through this trial. He does not always remove the cup of suffering; He drank a bitter cup Himself. But through suffering, character is formed in ways that ease can never produce.

I know the burning frustration when relief does not come. Years ago I hit my own thumb with a hammer, splitting the nail down through the quick. Even now, decades later, a ridge remains where the nail was traumatized it never fully recovered its old shape. That pain was a sharp, self-inflicted misery, and in the moment all I could feel was my throbbing hand. But God used that small affliction to teach me something about the anger that pain can ignite, and He gave me a victory over reaction that I had not expected. My purpose in mentioning it is not to compare injuries, but to say that the mark left behind can become a remembrance of His grace in the midst of weakness.

You mentioned the burning when acid touches that damaged nail. That kind of sharp, specific suffering can trigger deep frustration, even questions about whether doing the right thing matters at all. Job drew the wrong conclusion that it doesn’t pay to live righteously because the righteous suffer and the wicked often prosper. We do not know all the reasons why godly people endure prolonged pain, but we know this: God’s hand is on your life, and with Him there are no true coincidences. The same Lord who once told Moses to stretch out his rod and bring plagues upon Egypt will one day stretch out His right hand again to make all things new. Until that day, we groan in these bodies, longing for redemption.

Do not lose heart. The nail that will not heal, the stubborn knuckle, the stiff thumb all of these are held within the hand that was pierced for you. Set your affection on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God, and know that your labor in therapy and your cries for relief are not wasted. I join my faith with yours, asking that God would touch each injured part and restore what is broken. But if He chooses to give sustaining grace instead of immediate healing, that too is a precious gift. Your right hand cannot save itself, but His right hand is strong to deliver.
