PLEASE PRAY FOR MY PROTECTION

I'm a Social Worker and I had a mentally unstable client call me yesterday threatening me over something I did not do. I was going by our company policy and he made threats that he knows where I live and what car I drive. Please pray God will protect me, my family and property.

We have heard your request and we are standing with you in prayer for your protection and for the safety of your family and your property. We understand how frightening it is to receive a threat, especially when you were simply following your company's policy and doing your job with integrity, and to have someone say they know where you live and what you drive. Please know that God sees what has happened and He is your refuge and strength.

We take comfort in what Scripture tells us about God's protection. Psalm 46:1 tells us God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 91:1-2 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:11 promises He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. And 2 Thessalonians 3:3 reminds us the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. We also cling to Isaiah 41:10 where the Lord says Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ and we want to gently share why His name is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in prayer. It is in His mighty name that we find both salvation and protection and can approach God's throne with confidence.

We want to encourage you to take practical steps of wisdom while you trust the Lord to be your protector. God has appointed authorities for our good and for protection. Romans 13:4 tells us the governing authority is a servant of God to you for good. We encourage you to immediately report this threat to your supervisor and to law enforcement, to document everything that was said with dates and times, and to follow any safety protocols your employer has for threatened workers. Share this with your family so you can all be vigilant, and consider practical measures for your home and vehicle. Do not carry this fear alone. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as 2 Timothy 1:7 teaches, so we can walk in wisdom without being overcome by fear.

We also pray for this client who is mentally unstable and made these threats, that God would bring peace to his mind, convict him of the wrong of threatening harm, and lead him to the help he needs.

We now join together in prayer for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear social worker to Your throne of grace. Lord You see the threat that was made and You know the fear and anxiety it has caused. We ask that You would be a wall of fire around her, around her family, and around her home and property. Psalm 121:7-8 says Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore. We ask for that keeping power now. Let no weapon formed against her prosper and let no harm come near her dwelling. Give her Your perfect peace that passes all understanding and calm her heart. Give wisdom to her supervisors and to law enforcement as they handle this situation, and restrain this client from acting on his threats. Bring him to a place of stability and repentance and help him receive proper care. Guide our sister in every practical step she should take and let Your angels guard her coming and going, whether at work, at home, or on the road. We thank You that You are her fortress and that underneath are Your everlasting arms. We trust You to be her protector and to let justice and mercy prevail. In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

Tell your supervisor and your agency's safety officer today exactly what was said, and make a written record with date, time and words used. Ask your employer what safety plan they have for threats and let them contact law enforcement with you. If you have not yet reported the threat to police, please do so, and let trusted family members know so you can look out for each other, vary routines for a time, and keep doors and vehicles secured. Try not to meet with this client alone going forward and ask for a colleague or security to be present for any required contact.

Father, we bring our sister before You and ask for Your watch over her, her family and her home. Give her wisdom for each next step, peace in place of fear, and guidance for her supervisors and for those in authority who can help keep her safe. Lead her to the right support and let her feel Your nearness. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been laid before the Lord and we join with you in earnest prayer for His protection over you, your family and your property.

We understand how deeply troubling it is to be threatened in the very place where you seek to do good and to follow your duty with integrity. The fear which such threats awaken is natural, for the heart is shaken when danger comes near to our home and to those we love. Yet the Lord has given to His people many sweet Fear nots in Scripture, and they are spoken afresh to you in this trial. As the prophet declared, Fear not, I am with thee, and again, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. Fear is weakening and it dishonors God when we forget that the arm which piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth is not palsied, but is mighty to keep His own.

Like Jacob of old you may pray with honesty, Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of him that would harm me. That prayer is not unbelief, but faith turning to its only refuge. You need an infinite Friend to keep you in safety against all the machinations of adversaries, and your safety lies in your Saviour. He who is able to keep you from falling is able also to keep you in your going out and coming in, to watch over your household and all that He has entrusted to you. Trust as much to Him to enable you to overcome this present trial as you have trusted Him to overcome the fear of condemnation. He is faithful to His promises and faithful to His Son.

Let us pray together.

Our gracious Father, we come before Thy throne in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, and we ask Thee to spread Thy hand of protection over this Thy servant. Keep this one in perfect safety, guard the family within the home, and preserve the property Thou hast given. Let no weapon formed against them prosper and restrain the hand and heart of the one who has uttered threats. Grant wisdom to all in authority, to employers and to those who keep the peace, that right measures may be taken for safety and for justice. Cast out tormenting fear and give instead a calm trust in Thy presence, for Thou hast said, Fear not, for I am with thee. Cause Thy perfect love to cast out fear and to establish the heart in quiet confidence. Keep this household by night and by day and present them faultless before Thy glory with exceeding joy, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We exhort you, while you rest in the Lord, to use also the lawful means He has provided. Let your employer be fully informed, keep a record of what was said, and seek the help of those appointed to protect the peace. Neglect not any prudent step for the safety of your home and loved ones, and continue to cast your care upon Him who cares for you. May the Lord make His presence more real to you than any threat, and may you know that whether by night or by day, an angel of the Lord encamps round about them that fear Him.

It is right to take threats seriously, and it is right to bring them to God who is our refuge and strength. Scripture reminds us that when we walk in righteousness and do what is right, we can rest in His care. He sees when we have acted faithfully and according to what is right, even when we are falsely accused or threatened, and He is able to keep us in perfect safety and to give sleep without fear. Even the hard things that are meant for harm, God in His providence can use for good and can turn toward our deliverance.

We are praying that God will place a hedge of protection around you, your family and your property, that He will calm your heart and remove fear, and that He will restrain this client from carrying out any harm. We pray that the Lord will give you wisdom and peace as you continue in the good work you do.

Please also take practical steps for safety. Report this threat to your supervisor and to law enforcement, document everything that was said, let your family know to be watchful, and follow your employer's safety protocols for threatened workers. If you have not already, ask your workplace about additional security measures.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come to You and ask for Your protection over this social worker and their family. You know the threat that has been spoken and You know the truth of what happened. Keep them safe in their going out and coming in, guard their home and their property, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Give them Your peace that passes all understanding, give wisdom to supervisors and authorities involved, and bring this situation to a just and peaceful resolution. Help them to trust You and to rest in Your care, knowing that You watch over those who walk with You. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
