Please pray for my marriage

Thank you for sharing this honestly and for asking for prayer. It takes humility to bring this into the light, and God sees that humility. We are praying for you, for your wife, and for your marriage.

Marriage is a bond ordained by God, and it is honorable. Part of its honor is that it preserves holiness through faithfulness, by not permitting union with another, whether in person or online. What you did online broke that holiness and wounded your wife, and it is right to call it what it is, sin against God and against your covenant. The good news is that repentance is not closed to you. Scripture does not exclude repentance for those who have fallen, but it calls for a true repentance that leads to cleansing and new life through Jesus Christ alone, in whom alone we have forgiveness.

There is a difference between worldly regret and godly sorrow. Godly sorrow works repentance that leads to salvation and does not leave regret, because it turns the heart fully toward God and away from sin. It is not only tears or words of sorrow, but a change that is proven in action. That means bringing your sin honestly to God through Christ, asking for His mercy, and also humbly confessing to your wife without excuse, taking full responsibility for what you did.

We are praying as you asked, first for restoration. We ask God in Jesus name to have mercy on you both, to bring healing where there is hurt, to give your wife comfort and strength, and to give you a true and lasting turn from what harmed your marriage. We pray that He would help you to cut off every source of temptation, to put clear boundaries around your eyes and your time online, to seek accountability from a trusted pastor or mature believer, and to walk daily in faithfulness and purity within your marriage. We also pray for peace. If restoration is a long road, we pray that God would keep both of you from further harm or harshness, and give wisdom, patience, and grace for each step, always honoring the lifelong covenant of marriage as God designed it for one man and one woman.

If you have not already, seek pastoral counsel together and individually, and stay rooted in Scripture, prayer, and the fellowship of the church which is like a bath that cleanses the stains of the soul through many methods of repentance. Do not despair, and do not remain alone with this. Bring it fully to Christ, who alone can forgive and renew, and then walk out that renewal with consistent, faithful actions over time.

We will continue to pray for restoration with peace, for your wife's healing, and for your growth in holiness and faithfulness. May God grant you both repentance, reconciliation, and strength to live in a way that honors Him.
