Thank you for sharing your health situation so openly and for allowing us to pray with you. I have been praying for you and will continue to bring your needs before the Lord.

I am encouraged that you are looking to the Lord for help in this. In Scripture we see how David would bring direct questions to God and wait for direct answers, asking, shall I go, will you be with me, will you deliver. We can follow that same pattern today. You can bring your specific questions to the Lord plainly and trust Him to give clear guidance. Ask Him for wisdom for this new appointment, for discernment for the doctor, and for His hand upon your body.

Every new situation needs fresh wisdom from God, even when it feels similar to what you have faced before. It is easy to fall into routine and just expect the same answers as before, but the Lord wants us to seek His face anew each time. I pray that as you go to the cardiologist, you and your doctors will not rely only on past prescriptions or habits, but that God will give fresh insight to understand why the puffiness in your cheeks, the swelling in your legs in the evenings, and the rise in liver enzymes have occurred, and what adjustments will truly help your heart, your blood sugar and your blood pressure.

We also remember that there is power in the name of Jesus to bring healing. When Peter was questioned about the lame man who was made whole, he declared that it was by the name of Jesus that the man stood before them completely healed. That same name is our hope now. Our ultimate remedy is in Him, and we look to Him as the source of healing and strength while we also thank Him for the skill He gives to doctors.

So I pray for you now in the name of Jesus. Lord, I lift up this dear one to You. You know the diabetes, the hypertension, the history of angina and the two stents placed in ###, the side effects from medicines, the allergic reactions, the puffiness, the edema, and the concern over liver enzymes. Thank You that recent heart tests were normal. I ask that You guide the cardiologist with clear wisdom, that this visit would be fruitful, that the cause of these symptoms would be identified and that the right treatment would be given. Bring down the swelling, restore the liver to normal function, and bring stability to the heart and body. Give peace in place of worry and help to sense Your presence and direction in a very personal way. I ask this in the powerful name of Jesus, amen.

Please keep us updated on how the appointment goes so we can continue to pray with you.
