Faithful Servant
Please pray for my dad. He was officially listed today to receive a lung transplant. We don't know when he will get the call to go in, it could be days or months, but they will call when a donor lung is available. Please pray that everything will go according to plan, that the Lord will guide the surgeons' hands, and that my dad will recover quickly and completely from the surgery. Please pray that my dad's body will accept the lung without any complications and that it will give him more time here with us. Also please pray for the donor, that the donor will know Christ and that they will have salvation. Please pray for the donor's loved ones, that they will find peace and comfort in their grief and know that the gift of life is a beautiful and generous gift that their loved one is providing to another human being. Please ask the Lord to abundantly bless the time that the donor has left with his loved ones. Thank you and God bless you.
P.S. There's a shortage of donors and many people die while waiting to receive an organ. If you're not an organ donor, please consider registering as one. Why take your organs to the grave to let them rot in the ground (or be burned in cremation) when your organs could save the lives of several other people? A single organ donor may save up to eight people and a single tissue donor may enhance the lives of up to 50 people. Please pray about becoming a donor and see what the Lord would have you do. If you have an illness or something else that makes you think that you might not be eligible to donate, talk to a doctor about registering. Some patients will willingly take "high risk" organs such as from patients with hepatitis or other conditions. I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2018 and right now my organs are not eligible for transplant due to cancer risk but some of my tissues are still eligible (my corneas could help someone regain their sight). If I survive enough years cancer-free then my organs will become eligible again. I'm listed as a donor, and the transplant surgeons will decide what is safe to use and what is not based on my medical history and status. So even if you think you might not be eligible, register anyway. Let the transplant team decide what is useful and what is not. ♥
