We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your father-in-law in this critical time of suffering. The trials he is enduring—acute liver failure, pneumonia in both lungs, and lymphoma cancer—are severe, and we know the weight of this burden is heavy upon your family. We stand in the gap for him, interceding with faith and compassion, trusting in the Lord’s mercy and healing power.
First, we must acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved or through which healing and deliverance come (Acts 4:12). We pray that your father-in-law would come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior if he has not already, for eternal life and true healing begin with a relationship with Him. If he already knows the Lord, we ask that his faith would be strengthened in this trial, that he would trust in God’s goodness and sovereignty even in the midst of pain.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in this situation. Your Word tells us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* Lord, we claim this promise over your father-in-law. We ask that You would touch his body, restore his liver, clear his lungs of pneumonia, and destroy the cancer that is ravaging his body. Let Your healing power flow through him like a river, bringing restoration and strength where there is weakness.
We also pray for the medical team attending to him. Give them wisdom, discernment, and skill as they care for him. Guide their hands and their decisions, Lord, so that they may be instruments of Your healing (Proverbs 3:5-6). We ask that You would provide comfort and peace to his family, especially to his loved ones who are watching and waiting. Ease their anxiety and fill them with Your hope, reminding them that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity and death that is seeking to take hold of his life. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your Word that says, *"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers"* (3 John 1:2). We speak life over his body and command every organ, cell, and system to align with Your perfect design. Let his kidneys function properly, his lungs be cleared, and his liver be restored. We declare that he will rise from this bed of affliction, strengthened and whole, to testify of Your goodness and faithfulness.
We also pray for his spiritual condition. If there is any unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness in his heart, we ask that You would bring conviction and lead him to repentance. Your Word tells us in Psalm 32:3-5, *"When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long... I acknowledged my sin to You. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and You forgave the iniquity of my sin."* Lord, if there is anything hindering his healing, reveal it to him and grant him the grace to turn to You in full surrender.
Finally, we entrust his life into Your hands, knowing that Your ways are higher than our ways and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Whether You choose to heal him miraculously here on earth or call him home to be with You, we pray that Your will would be done. Give his family the strength to accept Your plan, whatever it may be, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
