Please pray for my daughter- Alex

Today is my daughter's 17th birthday and she has been gone now for 2 weeks. This is the 6th time in a year that she has run away to be with a boy who now being emotionally abusive to her. We have done everything that we know to do to keep her at home but she is under his control. We have had "no contact orders" issued to keep him away from her but she breaks them by leaving with him. The Sherriffs Office brought her home once last fall after she had been gone for 9 weeks but now they say she is too old for them to do an investigation to try to find her again. I cant understand why this is happening to our family. Alex has always been loved and we have always told her from the time she was born how special and beautiful she was. My husband and I have always known how important self esteem is especially for girls, so we would go out of our way to show her how important she was to our family just as we do with our boys. We have taught her since birth about God and trusting him but since she has been with this boy she has turned away from God. She always says, "If God loves me why does he make me so unhappy".

Please pray that God will open my daughter's eyes so she can she this terrible road that she is on. Its is my prayer that God will bring her back with a changed heart like the Prodigal Son. That story always bring me hope.

Dear Father, I pray for Your direction in this young woman's life. Infuse her mind and spirit with Your leading, help her turn from this habit of running away from life, and help her run to You. Convict her heart of its need for your guidance, give her an appreciation for all her family does for her and provides for her, help her know that You are ever present and ready to walk by her side. Protect her from harm, lead her back to her family, draw her close to Your side. Amen.

I have been and am where you are. I have three children boy, girl, boy. My daughter has always felt that the boys were treated better than her. She has been rebellious all her life. Running away from the age of five . She was raised in the church and we felt we did the best we could. As a parent , we tend to blame ourselves for the "sins" of our children. I did this for many years, she is 25 now. I have come to the conclusion that it is not us, not that I won't accept blame for any of it, but that she has severe mental problems. She has two daughters, one we are raising and hoping to get guardianship over, the other, she gave to the father, who is abusive and controlling. He is in CO we are in SD. She says she loves him but he has done nothing but degrade her and send her self esteem to the lowest point of anyone I have ever seen. The girls are 3 and 18 months. He filed legal separation papers on her and put a clause in them that she could not take her 18 month old out of the state. She has done very little to fight this because he has her believing he is going to withdraw the papers. He is more than likely telling her that so she will do nothing and he will "win: because she didn't try. I pray for her and I pray for your daughter. It is a hard thing to watch your child destroy themselves and even harder to watch them bring innocent children into this world that they really are not able or capable of giving a decent life.
