We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your father in earnest prayer. Father God, we ask You to stretch forth Your healing hand upon him. Your Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We claim this promise over his life, trusting in Your power to bring restoration and healing.
Lord, we pray specifically for the PET scan that is upcoming. We ask that You would guide the hands of the medical professionals and grant them wisdom to see clearly the state of this illness. We pray fervently that the cancer has not spread and remains non-invasive, allowing for the possibility of radiation treatment. Your Word assures us in Psalm 30:2, "Yahweh my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me." We hold onto this truth, believing in Your ability to bring about favorable results.
We also lift up your father’s spirit, dear Lord. The anxiety and fear he feels are heavy burdens, and we ask that You would surround him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, as Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Let him feel Your presence and love in a tangible way, comforting him through this trial.
Father, we ask that You would also strengthen the family during this time. May they find solace in You and in one another, leaning on the promise found in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases. It is through His name alone that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We trust in Your perfect will, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
May Your will be done, Lord, and may Your name be glorified through this situation, whatever the outcome. We stand on Your promises and trust in Your unfailing love. Amen.
