Please pray for my career

Reza

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me as I continue looking for a job in the city where my child and I live. I’m trusting God to provide the right opportunity at the right time. I’m grateful that I still have enough to live and support my child, so I also pray that opportunities and resources reach those who are facing greater hardship and need them more urgently. May God guide me, provide for others, and help me remain patient and trusting throughout this season. God bless you all…

We join with you in prayer for your career and for provision for you and your child, and we thank you for sharing your heart with such gratitude and compassion for others even while you are waiting for your own opportunity.

We are encouraged by your thankful spirit and by your concern for those facing greater hardship. That kind of selflessness reflects the love God calls us to, to bear one another's burdens and to remember that every good gift comes from Him. We pray that God will honor your patience and your trust as you continue to seek work in the city where you and your child live.

We do want to gently encourage you about something we noticed in your request. You spoke of trusting God, which is good and right, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13 It is through His name we pray and have confidence before God.

The Word reminds us, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 and My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 We also take comfort in, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear parent and child to You. You know their needs, their city, their daily provision, and the desire for meaningful work. We ask that You open the right door at the right time, that You guide their steps and grant favor with employers, and that You provide work that will allow them to provide for their family and to use the gifts You have given them for Your glory. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Colossians 3:23 Help them to continue diligently seeking while resting in Your timing. We ask that You give them patience and peace while they wait, and that You guard their heart from worry, for we are told, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We also join their prayer for others who are facing greater hardship and urgently need opportunities and resources. Lord, extend Your mercy to them as well and move on the hearts of those who can help. Strengthen this parent to be an example of faith and steadiness to their child, and remind them daily that those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. Isaiah 40:31 Let them not grow weary in doing good, for in due season they will reap, if they do not give up. Galatians 6:9 We thank You that You are faithful and that Your loving kindness never fails. We trust Your perfect plan and Your perfect timing. In the precious name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, in the Word, and in diligent preparation as you look for work, trusting that God orders our steps. A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9 Continue to give thanks, to seek Him daily, and to rest in the assurance that He sees you, loves you and your child, and will provide. We are standing with you in faith for God's provision and guidance in this season.

We appreciate you sharing this and the gracious way you are holding both your own need and concern for others. Wanting to stay in the city where you and your child live makes sense, and it is understandable to want steady work there while also learning patience in the waiting. Your gratitude even in this season stands out, and so does your prayer that resources reach those with more urgent hardship.

The search itself can be tiring, with hopeful days and discouraging ones, and it helps to not carry it alone. If it is helpful, you might choose one small steady rhythm for the weeks ahead, like checking in with a local career center, employment office, or a couple of trusted contacts in your city each week, and also sharing honestly with a friend or pastor about how the wait is feeling. That kind of regular connection can keep perspective and open doors without letting the search take over everything.

We are praying for you and your child in this time.

Father, we lift this parent and child to You, thank You for Your care for them so far. Give wisdom in each application and conversation, provide for their daily needs, and guard their hearts with patience and trust as they wait. We also ask You to meet those in deeper hardship with help and hope today. Lead to the right opportunity in Your timing, in Jesus name, amen.

It is a cause for thanksgiving to hear such a spirit of patient trust and unselfish care in your prayer. You have not charged God foolishly, but have spoken with gratitude for what you have while you wait, and with compassion for those whose need is greater than your own. This is well pleasing to the Lord, and it is the very patience of which it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

You may take comfort that the same God who upheld Job is able to support you. We do not so much lose our patience as show that we have none, until trial proves us, but the Lord is mighty to sustain the tried heart. If He could keep Job faithful through loss and waiting, He can keep you in this season of seeking and trusting. Remember also that word, Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any. He is mighty in strength and wisdom, and in strength of heart. He does not despise the cry of a parent laboring for a child, nor the prayer that is offered quietly in the city where you dwell. Though you may feel overlooked in a crowd of many seeking work, you are not overlooked by Him.

Continue to seek the Lord Himself more than the provision itself. Job longed to find God, not merely to have his circumstances explained, and when the Lord revealed Himself, Job found more than answers. Seek His face daily in prayer and in the hearing of His Word, and ask Him to order your cause before Him. He hears when we call, and He delights to comfort His people.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, without whom there is nothing good, nothing strong, nothing effectual, we thank You for this one who trusts You for daily bread and for the care of a child. You know the city where they live, the work for which they look, and the right opportunity at the right time. In Your wisdom and goodness, guide their steps, open the door which no man can shut, and provide work that will sustain their household with honesty and dignity. Grant patience in waiting, and keep their heart from fretfulness or rebellion, that they may be kept as Job was kept, sinning not with the lips. And we ask also for those who face greater hardship and more urgent need, that Your mighty hand would supply them, that opportunities and resources would reach them speedily, for You despisest not any. Give to all who trust in Christ a quiet confidence that where You begin a good work You will complete it, and that whosoever trusts in the blood of Jesus Christ shall not be put to shame. Help this dear one to remain patient and trusting, to rest in Your love and in the patience of Christ, until You give the victory. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom alone is salvation, and to whom be all glory. Amen.

May the Lord guide this parent's job search in their city, providing the right opportunity at the right time. May they remain patient and trusting, grateful for daily provision. And may God's resources and opportunities also reach those facing greater hardship. Amen.
