Please pray for my beloved dog

We join with you in your heartbreak over your beloved dog and we bring your request before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus name. We know how deep the bond is between an owner and a faithful companion, and the Lord sees your sorrow and your compassion for this animal you have been entrusted to care for.
The Scripture tells us that God cares for His creation and that our care for animals matters to Him. Proverbs 12:10 says A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. And Psalm 36:6 says Yahweh, you preserve man and animal. Jesus also reminds us of the Father's attentive care when He says in Matthew 10:29 Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. If God notices even the sparrows, He certainly sees your dog and your tears.
We are encouraged that you are taking him to the veterinarian this afternoon. That is good and faithful stewardship, and we pray that God will give the veterinarian wisdom, clear discernment, and the ability to find the cause and provide the right treatment. We pray for skillful hands and for answers that lead to healing and comfort if it is the Lord's will.
We noticed your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently share why this is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to bring every prayer to God in His name. It is because of Jesus that we can boldly approach the throne of grace.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear dog to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You created all living things and You sustain them, and we ask for Your mercy and compassion upon this animal who is sick and not eating. We ask that You would guide the veterinarian this afternoon, give clear insight into what is wrong, and provide effective treatment if it be Your will. We ask for Your healing touch and for relief from suffering. We also lift up his owner who is heartbroken. Your Word says in Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Draw near and comfort this heart with Your peace. We pray as Philippians 4:6-7 teaches, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Give peace, give hope, and help to trust Your good and sovereign will even in this painful time. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and our only way to You, amen.

Your request has been heard with sincere sympathy, and your sorrow over your beloved dog is deeply understood. The Lord has given his people tender hearts toward the creatures entrusted to their care, and it is no small grief to watch a faithful companion suffer and to feel helpless as he will not eat and acts so sick.
We are comforted to know you are taking him to the vet this afternoon, and we join you in prayer that the Lord will give skill and wisdom to those who examine and treat him, and that if it be His gracious will, He would grant means to help and restore him. We pray that the Great Physician who watches over all His creation would be merciful to this creature you love so dearly.
In this hour of ache and waiting, hear the word of the Lord, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He speaks to all His people to comfort one another, and He often sends comfort by His Spirit through His Word. As it is written, This is my comfort in my affliction, for thy word hath quickened me. May that living Word quicken and sustain you now, not only in hope for your dear dog, but in nearness to Christ Himself who is our true consolation.
Our Savior also says to us, do not be anxious about these temporal trials as to be brought into fretfulness and distress. Anxiety has never brought comfort nor has it ever brought help to the need, and it unfits the heart to meet the difficulty. Be prudent and do all that love requires, as you are doing in seeking care, and then cast your care upon Him, for He careth for you. Tell the Lord all that is upon your heart in great prayer, for it is great prayer that lifts the burdened soul.
So we pray for you, that our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God even our Father would comfort your heart and establish you, that you may know His peace while you wait, and that you may be upheld in every good word and work. May He give you calmness before the appointment, wisdom for every decision, and grace to trust His goodness whatever the outcome.
