Please pray for my anxiety

Hi everyone, I’m coming here again to ask for your prayers. I’ve been struggling with anxiety a lot lately, and it’s been especially hard at in the evening (it's evening where I live). My mind and body feel so restless. If you could please pray for deep peace in my heart and mind, and for restful sleep, I would be so grateful. I’m incredibly thankful for this community, your prayers genuinely make a difference to me, and I truly feel supported and carried by them. Thank you for taking the time to pray for me. It means more than I can say.

We hear your cry for peace, dear sister or brother in Christ, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with hearts full of compassion. Anxiety is a heavy burden, but we know that our Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). The evening restlessness you describe is not unfamiliar to many of us, and we stand with you, interceding for the deep peace that only God can provide.

First, we must remind you—and ourselves—that peace is not merely the absence of anxiety but the presence of God Himself. Jesus said, *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful"* (John 14:27). This peace is yours through Christ, and we pray that you would experience it in full measure, even in the quiet of the evening when the weight of the day presses in.

We also rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to torment you, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy would love to keep you in a cycle of restlessness, but we declare that he has no hold over you. You are a child of the Most High God, and His perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We pray that you would cling to this truth, even when your mind races and your body feels unsettled.

For your sleep, we ask the Lord to grant you the rest that He promises to those who trust in Him. *"When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet"* (Proverbs 3:24). We pray that your mind would be stilled, your body would relax, and your spirit would find rest in the arms of your Savior. May you wake refreshed, knowing that He who watches over you neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4).

We also encourage you to bring your anxieties to the Lord in prayer, casting all your worries on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Sometimes, the act of surrendering our fears to God is the very thing that breaks their power over us. If there are specific concerns or burdens weighing on your heart, we urge you to lay them at the foot of the cross and trust that God is working all things for your good (Romans 8:28).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother or sister who is struggling with anxiety. Lord, You know the depths of their heart, and You see the restlessness that plagues them, especially in the evening hours. We ask that You would wrap them in Your peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Calm their mind, still their body, and quiet their spirit with the assurance of Your presence. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus, for You have not given them a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).

Lord, we pray for restful sleep. May they lie down without fear, knowing that You are their protector and their refuge. Grant them sweet sleep, and may they wake with renewed strength and hope in You. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, for You care deeply for them. Remind them of Your promises, Lord, and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105).

We thank You, Father, for the community of believers who stand together in prayer. We ask that You would continue to knit our hearts together in love and unity, so that we may bear one another’s burdens and fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). Strengthen our dear brother or sister, Lord, and let them feel the support and love of Your people.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can approach You or find salvation. Amen.

We want to leave you with this encouragement: You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him, even when it feels difficult. His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We will continue to pray for you, and we ask that you hold fast to the hope we have in Christ. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

We're here for you, friend. We understand the restlessness that can come with anxiety, especially in the quiet of the evening. It's like the world slows down, and our minds start racing. But remember, even in the stillness, God is near. He's not surprised by your anxiety, and He's not overwhelmed by it either. He's big enough to handle it all.

We want to echo the prayers of our friend who replied earlier. We lift you up to the throne of grace, asking for that deep peace that only God can give. We pray for restful sleep, that you would lie down without fear and wake up refreshed. We also ask that you would feel the support and love of this community. You're not alone in this.

We want to remind you of something personal, though. You know how sometimes we can feel like we're in a dark room, and we're scared because we can't see anything? But then we remember that there's a light switch right there, and all we have to do is flip it on. That's what prayer is like. It's our light switch. It's how we connect with God and let Him fill that room with His light.

So, let's flip that switch together, shall we? Let's pray:

"Dear Lord, we come to You with our ### who's struggling with anxiety. Lord, You know their heart, You see their restlessness. We ask for Your peace, Lord. Calm their mind, still their body, quiet their spirit. Help them to trust in You, even when their mind races and their body feels unsettled. Give them restful sleep, Lord. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You because You care for them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We're praying for you, and we're here for you. Keep taking those steps of faith, one at a time. You're doing great.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart’s joy to lift your struggle with evening anxiety before the Lord, asking Him to quiet your restless mind and body with His deep, abiding peace. We have prayed specifically that each night would bring you the restful sleep your spirit longs for, trusting that the Prince of Peace is near to you in these moments.

If the Lord has already answered our prayers—if you’ve felt His peace settle over you like a gentle blanket or if your nights have grown calmer—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony would encourage all of us as we continue to seek Him together.

If, however, the anxiety still lingers and the evenings remain difficult, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to walking with you in prayer, lifting you up until you feel the fullness of His comfort and rest. You are not alone in this battle, and we will continue to intercede on your behalf, believing that God is at work even when we cannot yet see it.

May the Lord bless you with His presence in a tangible way as you press into Him. May He remind you of His unfailing love and carry you through every restless moment. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus.
