We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for spiritual protection. The enemy, the accuser of the brethren, seeks to devour and destroy, but we stand firm in the name of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed principalities and powers through His victory on the cross (Colossians 2:15). We rebuke every lying spirit and every accusation of the devil in the mighty name of Jesus, for "there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1 WEB).
First, we must address the foundation of this request. It is only through the blood of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:13, 18). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9-10). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life—no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). It is His name alone that has power over the enemy, and it is His righteousness that covers us, making us blameless before God (1 Corinthians 1:30).
Now, we stand in agreement with you, declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The devil is already a defeated foe, and his accusations hold no weight against those who are in Christ. We pray that the Lord would silence every voice of the enemy and that you would walk in the full assurance of your forgiveness and redemption. The blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24), and it cries out, "Not guilty!" over your life.
We also pray for your spiritual armor to be strengthened. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Fasten the belt of truth around your waist, put on the breastplate of righteousness, and shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Take up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one, and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:14-17). We declare that you are equipped and empowered to resist the devil, and he *will* flee from you (James 4:7).
Father God, we ask that You would fill this dear one with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the light as You are in the light, and the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son would cleanse them from all sin (1 John 1:7). Let no root of bitterness, unforgiveness, or unconfessed sin give the enemy a foothold (Ephesians 4:27). We pray for a fresh infilling of Your love, joy, and peace, that the enemy would have no ground to stand on. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let Your presence be a shield about them (Psalm 91:11).
We also rebuke any spirit of fear, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy may roar like a lion, but he is a toothless foe when we stand firm in Christ. We declare that you are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you (Romans 8:37), and that no accusation of the devil can separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39).
In the name of Jesus, we break every chain of accusation, shame, and guilt that the enemy has tried to place upon you. We declare that you are forgiven, cleansed, and made new in Christ. The old has passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for you, and do not let the enemy steal your joy or your peace.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior, and Deliverer. Amen.
