First, let us affirm that your trust in Jesus is well-placed. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." It is clear that you are seeking to surrender your will to His, and that is a posture God honors. We also see your longing for Him to work in your life without you having to strive in your own strength, and this aligns with Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."
However, we must also gently remind you that while God is sovereign and works on our behalf, He often calls us to active participation in His plans. Philippians 2:12-13 tells us, "So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure." Even as we trust God to direct our steps, we are called to walk in obedience, using the gifts and opportunities He provides. This does not mean striving in our own strength, but rather cooperating with the Holy Spirit as He leads us.
Let us also address the importance of seeking God’s will not just for your work, but for every area of your life. In James 4:13-15, we are reminded, "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit,' whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.'" Your desire for Jesus to choose your path is commendable, but let us always submit our plans to His perfect will, trusting that He knows what is best for us.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear brother/sister who seeks Your guidance and direction. Lord, we thank You for their heart that longs to surrender fully to You. We ask that You would indeed take full control of their life, leading them on the path You have prepared for them. Direct their steps, Father, and let Your will be done in every area of their life—whether in their work, their relationships, or their daily walk with You.
Lord Jesus, we ask that You would open their eyes to see the opportunities You place before them and give them the wisdom to walk in obedience. May they grow in intimacy with You, seeking Your face daily and delighting in Your presence.
