Please pray for me gallbladder removal surgery

can someone please pray for me that I’m going to be ok during a ###. I’m very scared I know it’s very common surgery but I’m very scared and my health isn’t the greatest and I’m ### years old. I’m not sure if asking for prays for myself is selfish or not. If so please forgive me.

Firstly, we want to address your concern about whether asking for prayer is selfish. It is not. God invites us to come to Him with our needs and concerns. In 1 Peter 5:7, it says, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." So, we encourage you to bring your fears and anxieties to the Lord, trusting that He cares for you deeply.

We also want to remind you that God is with you in this situation. Psalm 23:4 says, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Even in the midst of fear and uncertainty, God is with you, providing comfort and strength.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today lifting up our sister who is facing surgery. Lord, we ask that You would be with her, calming her fears and anxieties. We pray for the hands of the surgeons and medical staff, that You would guide them and give them wisdom and skill. Lord, we ask that You would bring healing and restoration to her body. We trust in Your promise that You are with us always, even in the darkest valleys. We pray for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

We also want to encourage you to trust in God's sovereignty. He is in control of all things, and He has a plan for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.'" Even in this challenging time, God has a purpose and a plan for you.

Lastly, we want to remind you to lean on your faith community for support. Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Allow others to support and pray for you during this time. You are not alone.

Lord Jesus, You see this precious person, terrified and yet reaching out. Please quiet their heart. Wrap them in Your presence in the pre-op room, in the surgery itself, and in the recovery. Grant skill to every medical professional involved. Let this procedure go smoothly, and bring healing that is thorough and swift. Above all, let them feel Your nearness in a way that leaves no room for dread. We ask this in Your name. Amen.

Praying when your afraid os not a sin. Scriptures constantly reinforce the need to pray praise and worship God as often as humanly possible. Thats whats so great about prayerwalls and audio bibles. Round the clock bible and prayers is exactly what I need daily. Im going through more than I can handle on my own also. Be not afraid to ask for the prayers of the saints; it is no selfish thing. Our God has said, “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people,” and He speaks this to all His redeemed that they might bear one another’s burdens. The very trembling with which you pen your request shows a heart that feels its own weakness, and such a heart is not turned inward in pride but looks outward for mercy. How could it be wrong to seek that comfort which the Lord Himself commands us to give?

You speak of being very scared, though it is a common surgery. Yet what is common to the surgeon is a deep trial to the soul stretched upon the table. But know this: the very anxiety that arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. There is a better way. “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You.” Do not wait to feel peace before you trust; that is to stand against the Gospel plan. A sick man does not tell the physician he will trust him only after the cure is complete. Trust Him as you sink and you shall swim. Trust Him as you feel yourself dying and you shall live.

When they wheel you into that room, fix your mind not on the knife but on the pierced hand that holds you. Say from the heart, “My soul trusts in You: yes, in the shadow of Your wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities pass.” He can, He will help you if you will but trust Him to do so! The Great High Priest, even the Lord Jesus, if He sees no good in you, will pronounce you clean the moment you come unto Him and trust in Him. Only trust Him, only trust Him, Only trust Him now!

His word is alive, and it quickens those who lean upon it. “This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has quickened me.” May that living word run through your soul and give you a double peace, the peace of a mind stayed on the Rock of Ages. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when your own health is at its poorest. He will ordain peace for you, for He has worked all your works in you. Be of good courage, and may the Lord Himself go with you and bring you safely through.

Do not think it selfish to ask for the prayers of Christ’s body. The Church is a family, and a father’s heart longs to bear his children’s burdens. The fear you feel is natural, but let it drive you to the promise that never fails: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say, “The Lord is my Helper; I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Much less should you fear a surgery that, however common, is in His hands. If you bear this trial with thanksgiving, trusting the Physician of souls and bodies, you will find not only healing but a greater reward. Do not delay to cast your care upon Him. I join my prayers to yours, that the Lord may guide the surgeons’ hands and give you His peace.

You are not being selfish at all. You are doing exactly what the Lord invites us to do, bringing your burdens to Him and to His people. There is no shame in admitting you are scared. Honesty about our fears is often the first step toward genuine trust.

It is important to understand that the kind of fear that shrinks us back in terror is very different from the fear of the Lord. The fear that grips your heart right now, the dread of the unknown, the anxiety about your health, that is the fear that robs you of peace. It is an enemy of faith. But the fear of the Lord is something else entirely. That fear is a reverential awe, a deep-seated confidence in who God is. It is the beginning of wisdom, and wisdom here means understanding the sum total of all knowledge. To stand in awe of God is to know that He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. When that kind of holy reverence fills your heart, the other fear loses its voice.

Remembering the Lord is always the cure for fear. Fear enters when we forget His nature. Your mind is racing ahead to the surgical room, to the risks, to the weakness you already feel in your body. But the Scripture says, "Fear thou not, for I am with thee." The presence of God changes everything. When David walked through the valley of the shadow of death, he did not say he would dismantle the valley or avoid it altogether. He said he would fear no evil because the Shepherd was with him. Your Good Shepherd will be in that operating room. The surgeon’s skill is a tool, but the Lord is the one who heals. He is the Lord who heals you.

It is also helpful to remember that your body responds to what your mind dwells upon. A merry heart does good like a medicine, but a spirit crushed by anxiety dries the bones. Fear releases chemicals that put your whole being on high alert, which is exhausting. Trusting in God allows you to rest. You can say with the psalmist, "I shall yet praise Him who is the health of my countenance and my God." This trial is not the end of the story. There will come a day on the other side of this when you will praise Him specifically for what He carried you through today.

Let your prayer be one of simple reliance. You do not need to muster up a false bravery. You just need to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Do not let your decisions be motivated by panic, but by the quiet confidence that He holds every breath and every heartbeat. Depart from the evil of despairing thoughts. Turn from the temptation to believe that God has abandoned you. Instead, let the fear of the Lord be your strong confidence. His children have a place of safety. May you sense that safety now, and may you look forward to the days of restored health with a heart full of praise.
