Please pray for ### I am upset and angry šŸ™.

Tiffy Taffy

Humble Servant of All
People had walked all over me and used me for money. And everyone is screaming and yelling at me, talking down to me, and abusing me. People act like I hurt them. When my mom was alive, she used to search through my room when I wasn't home, and her and everyone else is walking all over me all because I am shy and have social anxiety. My family was mad at me for not having a job; no, I have one. People complain about me working 6 hours a week; I don't like it either. I don't understand why is everyone being mean to me while I am nice to them. I do everything for people; if I ask them, they complain. I don't want to ask nobody for nothing; I don't depend on nobody but God. If you depend on man, they will let you down. I feel like everyone in the world is toxic and everyone is against me. It seems like everyone in the world is toxic. I know there are nice, kind people. When people treat me horribly, it makes me hate myself. God, please take away our trials and troubles in Jesus' name. Amen. God bless you šŸ™.

We hear the deep pain and frustration in your words, and our hearts ache with yours. It is clear that you have endured mistreatment, disrespect, and even abuse from those around you, and that is not something to be taken lightly. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." You are not alone in this, and God sees every tear, every injustice, and every moment of betrayal. He is your defender, your refuge, and your strength.

First, we must address the way you have been treated. Scripture is clear that we are to love one another, bear with one another, and treat each other with kindness and respect. Ephesians 4:29-32 says, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." What has been done to you is wrong, and it is understandable that you feel anger and hurt. But we must also guard our hearts against bitterness, for it will only poison you further. Proverbs 4:23 warns, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."

You mentioned that people have used you for money and walked all over you because of your shyness and social anxiety. While it is good that you recognize your worth is not in what others think of you, we must also encourage you to set boundaries. Jesus Himself set boundaries—He withdrew to pray, He spoke truth even when it was unpopular, and He did not allow others to manipulate or misuse Him. In Matthew 10:16, He tells us, "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the middle of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." You are not called to be a doormat for others. You are called to love, yes, but love does not mean enabling sin or allowing yourself to be taken advantage of. Proverbs 22:22-23 says, "Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."

We also want to gently address the way you have been treated by your family, particularly regarding your job. It is not wrong to work part-time if that is what you are able to do, but we must also seek God’s wisdom in stewarding the gifts and opportunities He has given us. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." If your family is pressuring you in a way that is unkind or unreasonable, it may be time to have a honest but respectful conversation with them, seeking God’s guidance in how to respond.

You mentioned that when you ask others for help, they complain, and so you have chosen not to depend on anyone but God. This is both a strength and a potential area of growth. It is true that Psalm 118:8-9 says, "It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man. It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in princes." However, God also designed us to live in community. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." It is not wrong to ask for help, but it is important to seek out godly, trustworthy people who will support you in a healthy way. If you have been burned by others in the past, we understand why you might hesitate to trust again, but we encourage you to pray for discernment in finding safe, godly relationships.

Your feelings of self-hatred when others mistreat you are understandable, but we must remind you of your identity in Christ. You are not defined by how others treat you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), chosen by God (1 Peter 2:9), and deeply loved (John 3:16). When the enemy whispers lies that you are worthless or unlovable, we must combat those lies with the truth of Scripture. Romans 8:38-39 assures us, "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

We also want to address your prayer, which ended with "God, please take away our trials and troubles in Jesus' name. Amen." While it is good to bring our requests to God, we must also remember that trials are a part of this fallen world. James 1:2-4 tells us, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." This does not mean we enjoy suffering, but it does mean that God uses even the hardest things for our growth and His glory. We can pray for relief, but we must also pray for strength, wisdom, and perseverance to endure.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother who is hurting deeply. Lord, You see every injustice, every word spoken in anger, and every moment of betrayal he has endured. You are the God who defends the oppressed and binds up the brokenhearted. We ask that You would be his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Lord, heal the wounds that have been inflicted upon him, both seen and unseen. Replace his anger and bitterness with Your peace and forgiveness, not because those who hurt him deserve it, but because You have called us to walk in love and freedom.

Father, we ask that You would give him wisdom in setting boundaries with those who have taken advantage of him. Help him to see himself as You see him—fearfully and wonderfully made, chosen, and deeply loved. When the enemy whispers lies of worthlessness, remind him of Your truth. Surround him with godly, trustworthy people who will speak life into him and support him in a healthy way. Lord, if there are areas where he needs to grow, such as in his work or relationships, give him the courage and strength to step forward in obedience to You.

We pray against the spirit of self-hatred that has taken root in his heart. Remind him that his worth is not found in the opinions of others but in the fact that You sent Your Son to die for him. Help him to see himself through Your eyes. Lord, we ask that You would bring relief from these trials, but we also pray for endurance, wisdom, and strength to walk through them with faith. May he grow closer to You through this season, and may Your name be glorified in his life.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who has overcome the world and who intercedes for us even now. Amen.

In closing, we want to encourage you with the words of 1 Peter 5:6-10: "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings. But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you." You are not alone, and this season of suffering will not last forever. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith.

Dear friend, we hear your pain and frustration, and we're here for you. It's heartbreaking to know that you've been mistreated, disrespected, and even abused by those around you. It's not fair, and it's not right. But remember, God sees everything. He sees every tear, every injustice, and every moment of betrayal. He is your defender, your refuge, and your strength.

We want to encourage you to keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the wellsprings of life (Proverbs 4:23). It's okay to feel angry and hurt, but we must guard our hearts against bitterness. Jesus set boundaries too. He withdrew to pray, spoke truth even when it was unpopular, and didn't allow others to manipulate or misuse Him.
