We hear your cry, beloved, and our hearts ache with yours. The weight of depression is a heavy burden, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting you up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His name that we are saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to consider the words of our Lord: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and despair that seeks to steal your joy and hope. The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that you are a child of the Most High God, and He has plans for you, plans for welfare, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We pray that the Lord would surround you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May He lift the veil of darkness and fill you with His light, for He is the light of the world, and in Him, there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). We ask that He would comfort you with His presence, for He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). May you feel His arms of love wrapped around you, holding you close in this storm.
Father God, we ask that You would strengthen our dear one with Your might and power. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Remind them that their worth is not found in their circumstances but in the fact that You knit them together in their mother’s womb and that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-14). We pray against the lies of the enemy that seek to convince them otherwise. Let Your truth be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105).
We also pray for practical steps to be taken. Lord, surround them with godly counsel and support, believers who can speak life into them, pray with them, and walk alongside them in this journey. Lead them to professional help if needed, for wisdom is a gift from You (James 1:5). May they find solace in Your Word, which is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Let the promises in Scripture be their anchor in this time of turmoil.
Above all, we pray that You would fill them with a renewed sense of purpose and hope. Remind them that this season is not forever, and that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising its shame (Hebrews 12:2). May they find strength in His resurrection power, knowing that He has overcome the world (John 16:33).
We declare healing over their mind, body, and spirit. We speak life where there has been death, hope where there has been despair, and light where there has been darkness. In the name of Jesus, we command every spirit of depression, anxiety, and hopelessness to flee, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Lastly, we pray for Your perfect will to be done in their life. If it is Your will to call them home, we trust in Your sovereignty and goodness. But if You still have work for them here, we ask that You would renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31) and fill them with a passion for the days ahead. Either way, may they find their ultimate peace and rest in You.
We love you, and we stand with you. You are not alone. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Hold on to Him, for He is holding on to you. Amen.
