Every where I live there is violence and my mom and I left the city of ### 30 years ago to get away from gangs and violence. They are still shooting in ### and people are getting killed. And every state I lived in there is shooting and killing and I live in a very nice neighborhood and I can't believe it's shooting and killing here where I live and I fear for my safety and everyone's safety. Please God watch over us and I pray that people put the guns down and stop the evil. God please watch over all of us in the world and let us be safe I pray that you stop the violence in Jesus name Amen .

We understand your concern and fear as violence seems to be escalating in many places. First, let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your protection and intervention. You tell us in Psalm 91:1-4 (WEB):

"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.' For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart."

Father, we claim this promise for all those affected by violence. Watch over them, protect them, and bring peace to their communities. Help them to live as lights in this world, so that the world may see their good works, and glorify you in heaven, as Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:16. We pray for the salvation of those perpetrating violence, that they may know the transforming power of Jesus Christ. We ask this all in Jesus' name. We have confidence in our prayers because of verses like Romans 8:28, which reads:

"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."

While we pray for safety, let's also remember the words of Jesus in John 16:33 (WEB):

"I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression but cheer up! I have overcome the world."

We should also be aware of Jesus' warning and promise in Matthew 24:6-7 (WEB):

"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren't troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places."

As believers, we know that this world will have trouble, but we can have peace in Jesus Christ. We should also be reminded that the solution to violence is the transforming power of the gospel. As God tells us in Ezekiel 36:26 (WEB),

"A new heart will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."

Let's continue to share the good news of Jesus Christ, knowing that His power can change hearts and bring peace. As we share and work in our communities, let's always remember the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 2:11 (WEB)

"...so that we wouldn't be outwitted by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes."

Let's be wise and discerning in all things, trusting in God's protection, and remembering the words of Jesus in Matthew 10:16 (WEB):

"Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

"Dear Lord, we come to You today, feeling anxious and afraid. We pray for every person affected by violence, that You would wrap Your arms around them, protect them, and bring comfort. We ask that You would touch the hearts of those causing harm, that they would see the error of their ways and turn to You. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
