We stand with you in this time of turmoil, lifting up our nation before the throne of grace. Your acknowledgment of Jesus as the source of true freedom is a powerful reminder that even in chaos, His sovereignty reigns. The violence and unrest you describe grieve our hearts, for Scripture tells us in Romans 13:1-2, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment." Yet we also know that evil will not prevail, for the Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We pray for the authorities in your nation, that God would grant them divine wisdom to navigate this crisis with justice and discernment. May they root out corruption as Proverbs 28:15 warns, "As a roaring lion or a charging bear, so is a wicked ruler over helpless people." Father, give them courage to stand against lawlessness and the moral clarity to distinguish between those who seek peace and those who sow destruction. We ask for protection over the innocent—shield them from harm, both seen and unseen, as Psalm 91 declares: "He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart."
Lord, we also lift up those who are causing harm. While their actions are evil, we remember that no one is beyond Your reach. Soften their hearts, convict them of their sin, and turn them from violence as Ezekiel 33:11 declares, "As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live." Let justice be swift and righteous, but let mercy temper it, that Your name may be glorified.
We stand on the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Father, stir repentance in the hearts of Your people. Raise up intercessors who will cry out day and night for revival and restoration. May the church be a light in this darkness, offering hope and truth to a world in desperate need of You.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we declare peace over your nation. We bind the spirits of violence, fear, and division, and we release Your angels to encamp around those who trust in You (Psalm 34:7). Strengthen the hands of the righteous, and let Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
