Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my young middle school daughter. She befriended friends from church that attend a different school. Her church friends got into a fight with her school friends and the church friends are blaming her for not stepping in to intervene and saying that she is not a true Christian, as a result of her failure to physically step in to intervene. She is really hurt and it has affected her mental health and doesn’t want to go to church now. Please pray that her church friends forgive her for whatever they perceive she did wrong. She wants to still be friends despite the way they are acting towards her.

Please pray for my high school daughter to find like-minded friends that she can talk to and enjoy. Please find her a small group at church that she will enjoy.

Please pray for my son’s anxiety and let him know everything will be okay. Please let him grow tall so that he has confidence in his stature, as he is much shorter than the other boys.

Please help my marriage. The stress is getting to us.

We lift up your family before the Lord, knowing that He cares deeply for each of you and the struggles you are facing. Let us first address the spiritual foundation of your requests, for it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we find true peace, wisdom, and restoration. The Scriptures remind us in **John 14:6**, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in **Acts 4:12**, we are told, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is by His name alone that we approach the throne of grace, and we are grateful you have brought these burdens to Him.

For your middle school daughter, we grieve with her over the pain caused by her church friends. Their words have wounded her spirit, and it is understandable that she feels hesitant to return to church. However, we must gently remind her—and you—that our identity in Christ is not determined by the opinions of others, nor is it measured by our ability to intervene in conflicts. **Romans 8:1** declares, *"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus."* Her worth is found in Him alone, not in the approval of her peers. That said, we also recognize that her friends’ accusations carry a grain of truth we must examine: as believers, we *are* called to be peacemakers. **Matthew 5:9** says, *"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God."* Yet, this does not mean she failed as a Christian by not physically stepping into a fight—that could have been dangerous or unwise. True peacemaking begins with prayer, wisdom, and seeking adult guidance when necessary. We pray that her friends will reflect on their own actions and ask for forgiveness, for their words have been harsh and unkind. **Ephesians 4:29** warns, *"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."* Let us pray that the Holy Spirit convicts their hearts and softens them toward reconciliation.

We also pray for your daughter’s heart to heal. The enemy would love to use this pain to drive her away from the church, but we declare that God will restore her joy in fellowship with believers. **Psalm 34:18** assures us, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* May she find comfort in His presence and wisdom in how to navigate these relationships. If she feels led, she might share her hurt with a trusted youth leader or pastor, who can help mediate and offer godly counsel.

For your high school daughter, we pray that the Lord will open doors for her to find a community of believers who will sharpen her faith and encourage her heart. **Proverbs 13:20** tells us, *"One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."* We ask God to lead her to a small group where she can grow in her relationship with Christ and form lasting, godly friendships. May she also be a light to others, drawing them closer to Jesus through her kindness and faith.

For your son, we lift up his anxiety and his desire for confidence. The Lord sees his heart and knows his struggles. **1 Peter 5:7** reminds us to *"cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."* We pray that he will surrender his fears to Jesus and find his identity in Christ alone, not in his height or the opinions of others. While we ask God to grant him growth in stature if it is His will, we also pray that his confidence will be rooted in the truth of **Psalm 139:14**: *"I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well."* May he walk in the assurance that God has a perfect plan for his life, and that his worth is not measured by the world’s standards.

Finally, for your marriage, we recognize that stress can strain even the strongest of bonds. But we encourage you both to turn to Christ as your foundation. **Ephesians 5:22-33** outlines the beauty of a marriage centered on Christ—where husbands love their wives as Christ loved the church, and wives submit to their husbands as to the Lord. This is not a call to perfection, but to mutual surrender to God’s design. We pray that you and your spouse will seek the Lord *together*, through prayer, Scripture, and possibly godly counseling if needed. **Ecclesiastes 4:12** reminds us, *"If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken."* With Christ as the center, your marriage can withstand any storm.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family and their burdens. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon the heart of this middle school daughter. Comfort her in her pain and remind her that her identity is secure in You. Soften the hearts of her friends, that they may seek forgiveness and extend grace, reflecting Your love. Restore her joy in fellowship and guard her against bitterness or fear.

For the high school daughter, we pray You would divinely connect her with friends who will encourage her in her faith. Lead her to a small group where she can grow spiritually and find belonging. Make her a light in her school and church, drawing others to You.

Father, we lift up this son and his anxieties. Replace his fear with Your peace, and let him know that he is fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image. Grant him confidence not in his stature, but in Your love and purpose for his life. If it is Your will, grant him growth, but above all, let him find his strength in You.

Lastly, Lord, we pray for this marriage. Renew their love and commitment to one another and to You. Help them to communicate with kindness, to serve one another in humility, and to seek You first in all things. Bind them together in unity, and let their home be a refuge of Your peace.

We rebuke the enemy’s attempts to bring division, anxiety, or doubt into this family. We declare that You, Lord, are their strength and shield. Let them find their hope in You alone.

In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.
