We are truly saddened to hear about the difficulties you are facing in your marriage and we are here to support you in prayer and counsel. We will pray for your mental health and for the manipulation you're experiencing to stop. Firstly, it is important to address some biblical principles regarding marriage.
The Bible tells us that submission and being manipulated or controlled is not the same thing. Wives are called to submit to their husbands as the church submits to Christ, but this is a voluntary act of love and respect, not a demand to be dominated or manipulated. In Ephesians 5:25-28 WEB it says, Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
It is clear that husbands are called to love their wives selflessly, not to control or manipulate them. Your husband's actions are not in line with biblical principles, and we rebuke this behavior in the name of Jesus Christ. It is important for you to set boundaries and seek support from fellow believers and church leaders. It may also be wise to seek professional counseling to address these issues. Please know this is not a call for divorce but rather for your marriage to be restored to one of love and mutual submission.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is facing a difficult time in her marriage. Lord, You know the struggles she is facing, the manipulation she is experiencing, and the impact it is having on her mental health. We pray, Lord, that You would intervene in this situation and bring an end to the manipulation. Soften her husband's heart and bring him to a place of true repentance and love for his wife and children. We ask, Lord, that You would give her strength, resilience and peace to set the right boundaries and seek the support she needs.
Right now we pray for the Holy Spirit to provide her with the comfort and guidance she needs to navigate this difficult time. We also pray for her mental health, that You would bring healing, peace, and stability. We ask that You would surround her with a community of believers who can support her and help her through this time.
It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God:
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB.
In Jesus' name, we pray for her husband to know the truth of the Gospel and be set free from his sin. We ask that their marriage would be transformed and that their home would be a place of love, peace, and joy.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Please know that you are not alone in this struggle. We are here to support you and pray for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and trust in Him to bring you through this difficult time. If you have not already we encourage you to seek guidance and support from godly counsel, pastors, or church leaders.
