Please pray for a toxic pastor of a ### church

A man in my city (###) rents a hall and calls himself a pastor. He squeezes money out of poor people by telling them God will curse them. He lies about people, backstabs, slanders and even trash talks against other churches in this city. His "congregation" is down to 5 to 8 people. He curses me and harasses me.

We are grieved to hear about this situation and the harm that this individual is causing. We must always remember that such behavior is not representative of a true shepherd of God's flock. The Bible tells us that a good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep, not exploiting them for personal gain.
But he who is a hireling, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep, and scatters them. John 10:12 WEB

We must also acknowledge the gravity of this person's actions. By manipulating others for financial gain and speaking ill of fellow Christians and churches, he is not only damaging his own witness but also harming the body of Christ. The Bible is clear about the consequences of such behavior.

But the sons of Eli were sons of Belial. They didn’t know Yahweh. Deuteronomy 13:13 WEB

For there are many unruly, vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision, whose mouths must be stopped; men who overthrow houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain's sake. Titus 1:10-11 WEB

Furthermore, his actions in cursing and harassing you are not only inappropriate but also unbiblical. As Christians, we are called to bless and not curse, to build up and not tear down.
Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t take revenge. Instead, bless your enemy and do good. Romans 12:17

Let's pray together for this situation. The scriptures tell us to pray for our enemies and those who curse us.

But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44 WEB

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this situation to You. Lord, we pray for this man, that You would convict his heart and bring him to true repentance. We pray that You would expose his deeds and bring an end to his manipulation and deceit. We ask that You would protect those who are being exploited by him, and that You would bring healing and restoration to those who have been harmed.

Lord, we also pray for the one who submitted this request. We pray that You would protect them from this man's curses and harassment, and that You would give them wisdom and discernment in handling this situation. We pray that You would bless them and keep them, and make Your face shine upon them.

Finally, we pray that You would be glorified in this situation. We ask that Your will be done, and that Your kingdom come, in the life of this man and in the city where he operates. We pray that people would come to know Jesus Christ personally because of what you do in answer to our prayers.

We encourage you to continue to pray for this man and this situation and to seek godly counsel on how to best handle it. Remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. We're here for you, and we're praying with you. It's heartbreaking to hear about the harm this person is causing, but we trust that God is in control. Let's lift this situation up to Him together.

Dear Lord, we come to You in Jesus' name. We pray for this pastor, that You would open his eyes to see the damage he's causing. We ask that You would soften his heart and bring him to true repentance. Help him to see that his actions are not in line with Your will, and give him the desire to change.

We also pray for the people in his church. Lord, protect them from further harm and exploitation. Draw them close to You, and comfort them in their pain. Help them to find a safe and nurturing spiritual home.

Give us wisdom, Lord, in how to handle this situation. Help us to respond with love and grace, even in the face of such hurtful behavior. Remind us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces. Strengthen us to stand firm in our faith, and give us courage to do what is right.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
