Please pray for a miracle for Tommy Lathwell-7 years old

The news is not good. As Kevin indicates, pray for a miracle.

Yesterday we had to move rooms. We had Michael, Lauren, Nicholas, Alexander and Mommy taking everything off the walls and moving it over to room 858. All the mail sent to 835 is making its way to us. Thanks for brightening Tommy's day.

We met with the doctors last night to discuss where we go from here. If Tommy's counts recover with no leukemia they want to try a second BMT and give the success rate at 30%. If we decide to go this route we would have to agree to graft vs. host disease (GVH) to a stage 2.5 the worse being a stage IV. If GVH gets to a III they can no longer control it and it progresses to a IV. A stage IV GVH is like being burned alive, it can also attack the internal organs as well as the skin. It is an awful, horrible way to die. Anyone who has witnessed a stage IV GVH knows this horror. They had no other options to offer us. The risk also includes chronic GVH which can cause scarring of the skin, lungs, liver etc.. their best prediction is 4 years of chronic GVH given they will induce a 2.5 acute GVH initially. If we do nothing more at this point the doctors said the leukemia will 100% come back and he has weeks maybe months more.

Please pray for us that we may discern the Lord's will. Neither option seems good. Praying for a miracle at this point.

Dear Lord I come to you asking you to lay your healing hands upon Tommy.Please Lord heal his body of this leukemia and keep him safe in your loving arm.In Jesus name I pray Amen

Loving Father, Gracious God, this prayer request takes me back. Back to the time when we were making these decisions for my brother, back to when we felt as if we were paralyzed as to which decision to make. Father, grant this family the fullness of Your grace, peace and mercy as they make these decisions. Make sure that Tommy's wishes are the number one priority, and that they are led by You, not fear, duty or guilt. May Your healing hands be upon Tommy, helping the heal and repair his young body. Grant this family a time of loving, open discussions and deep, thoughtful prayer. Intercede in their lives and lead the to theright choice. You cradled my family with Your love and faithfulness throughout my brother's journey, and I know You are already doing the same of this family. In the name of Jesus Christ, I give You praise and thank You for Tommy's courageous life. Amen.

Lord, I lift Tommy up to You and I stand in the gap for the miracle that everyone is waiting so patiently for. Lord, we all know and believe that You can and will do it. I thank You for Your healing touch. I ask now for the guidance and direction for the parents. They are waiting to hear for You Lord. Speak to them Lord so they will be sure of what way to go. Cover them all with Your blood. Lift their spirits and touch their hearts. I speak peace, joy and healing into their lives right now in the name of Jesus. In Jesus' name. Amen
